They also WALK to most places, whereas in countries as large as ours, we're always in cars.
It depends where you live and work. If you live in the suburbs, unless you want to change bus 5 times and waste 3 hours, you need a car. If you're close to your workplace, you can walk. That's what I do _________________

If I walked to my workplace it would take 1.5 hours. _________________

I can deal with sweltering... It's the cold that's a deal breaker.
With any luck, the Q-man and I will be in Japan to chase maids in May-June.
how does 2 weeks in April sound, i gotta have my gravure, maid, otakuism, and everything else japanese fix....
just giving it a thought of maybe spring. I want to see mt fuji this time, with clearer skies. sakura cherry blossoms are a bonus. May isn't bad, June might seem too hot, as i have been there during those humid summer months. I should have ample vacation built up by April, just a thought right now for that month. March might seem a bit early, but if it were up to me, i'd go once a month, or every few months, but that is unreaslitic.

Maybe late April:
By all accounts, both here and from what i've read elsewhere, if you were to go during spring or fall the weather would be best and local festivities a plenty would be available for you to check out if desired...that's in addition to everything else you might want to see.
i wonder if they sell star maps in Tokyo so you could visit the celebrities' homes, just like the ones they sell at the Chinese Mann Theater on Hollywood Blvd.

Maybe late April: It's income tax month, y'know.
BMW, you should definitely go. And if you have Q, then you won't have any problems identifying idols. I would say as early in April as possible to take full advantage of the cherry blossoms. But that's not to say that late April won't have any.
