greetings from Shinagawa Prince Hotel, Tokyo. tomorrow is the last day of my trip, and despite the chilly weather the past few days, and the drenching rains, i found it to be a great trip. Lots of walking, sightseeing, spending money, eating fast-food, and some good Japanese foods. Yesterday spent most of the day shopping in Akihabara, Harajuku, Shibuya, and again today. The other day, saw Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, and the previous day was visiting Hakone and a view of the magnificant Mt. Fuji!!! I have lots of pix and video, so when i get a chance i wil try to post some. Ahhh the memories of traveling on the over-packed Yamanote JR line, and going thru the over crowded JR trainstations in Shinjuku, and Shibuya. But i have to say it was an enjoyable experience and the customer service is truly amazing even at the Newsday, AM PM convenience stores, KFC, MOS burger, and everywhere else....its too bad that back home the service is subpar in comparison. That is one thing i will miss about Japan besides everything else.

Thanks. Big Grin

It was really awesome. I loved every second of it. I sometimes still think it wasn't real. Like it was only a dream or something. I didn't have jet lag, because I didn't slept the night before. I'm happy to have seen lots of yopparai oyaji. Drunk

I had more of a feeling of living there than actually was on a trip. We even rented a small apartment, for 3 days, near Ueno station. I didn't even see foreign tourists except for Asakusa temple and a handful on top of a mountain in Hakone. I did enjoyed a few things the locals do like falling asleep in trains, buying an umbrella at a 100yen store when it rains, eating every sample in omiyage stores and not buying anything, home cooked meal... Nice weather, except for one evening, it rain for 2 or 3 hours. I was a little bit shocked to know someone killed himself, in front of the train, almost every time I took it tho.

I really enjoyed the food. I don't even like soba here, because it tastes like shiet. I think I ate some 2 or 3 times there. I can't believe I forgot to eat takoyaki tho. I saw a lot of stands, but always right after a meal, so I never bought some. I'll have to go back. Things kind of happened, between my travel partner and I, early in the trip, so we didn't go to Akiba or Kubukichou, but instead did things like hanami or just walk around. In love I was scared at first not being able to see sakura, but it was in full bloom on the 26th or 27th. Really beautiful.

I thought of throwing away my passport and never go back home, but I guess it's better than being kicked out of the country and never being able to go back again. Now, I hate even more the place I'm living and want to go back ASAP. Cheaper than I expected tho. You can have a really good meal for 1000~1200yens. Tax included and don't have to tip. The coffee is fuggin expensive tho. 340 for a medium size cup. Nut At one place in Hakone, they even served us instant coffee for 300 a cup.

Usually, when I travel, after a while I'm actually happy to go home. Not this time. I'd go there again today and never come back. Really awesome place. I wish everybody can experience it.

I'll post pictures later.

Okaeri, senpai!!! >>smothers<< Sugoi, you came back quick!

It sounds like you had a blast on your trip! And no worries about not being able to eat takoyaki when you were there. This just gives you more of an incentive to go back! w00t! I can't wait for the pictures.

Glad you had a great trip.

When I get older, may move to Japan, start a restaurant. Smile

The cherry blossoms are in full bloom in San Francisco's Nihonmachi (Japantown) and also Golden Gate Park. Got some great photos this weekend in GGP, took my fiance hanami viewing.

Cheers, Drunk

welcome back from Japan...
i am glad you enjoyed your trip. How long were you there for again?

I just got back this afternoon, and i took a short nap since returning but the jet-lag will probably last for atleast a few days until i get settled back to PST.

I was in Japan for 16 days, and i enjoy it all, i sometimes felt tempted to just move there, but i know that it would be hard to adapt to a foreign country despite my appreciation and love for Japan! But i would love to have a second house in Japan and visit very often!

I have so many memorable moments, i don't even know where to begin, i have tons of photos to sort and lots of videos, and journal writings. It would probably take a few weeks before it unravels. One thing for sure is my first view of Mt Fuji on a clear day from the hotel in Shinagawa Prince, and upclose coming down the ropeway car, what a nice snow peaked view of Fuji-san!

It was. Big Grin Sadly I didn't see any rat coat. I went to a gyaru mall tho. It was quite hilarious. hehe

Sadly (or thankfully?) no. Just a few basics thing. I practiced listening, but didn't talk much. I let the girlfriend do the talking and just stared blankly trying to figure out what the hell they were talking about. Way too fast for me. Puppy Dog Eyes
