Yeah, when they first opened up, the lines were freakin insane! They would go for about a block. No joke. I refuse to wait in line for Krispy Kreme. I'll settle for Mr. Donut. Also, Cold Stone Creamery is here which is pretty popular. I don't foresee the majority of Japanese getting overweight/obese though.

I read that Krispy Kreme is among a number of companies that are really close to closing up shop... At least in the U.S.

Well when that one Krispy Kreme shop opened here (like around 3 yrs ago), there's was a lot of hype. The local news were saying how it was the next big thing and it was going to give Dunkin Donuts a lot of competition. But it was all talk, people around here seem to be loyal to Dunkin.

have a safe journey here in Japan, and same with you Genma.
I leave Fukuoka back to Shinagawa tmrw.
glad you like the photos.

today i spent the day with my sister's friends that moved back to Hiroshima. We first had lunch at an authentic Okonomiyaki restarant, and i can elaborate some other time on Hiroshima's distinctive style, the other is the Osaka style Okonomiyaki. Then we headed to Miyajima on ferry to the Miyajima Island to view the amazing on the water Shrine, and i have been told it is 1400 years old, and the only one of its kind, on the water. We then broswed the hilltop overlooking the spectacular view of the entire city of Hiroshima. Last year I already seen the Peace Park, this year i saw a different side and views of Hiroshima.

Looks like you're all over Japan. Smile

I'll be heading to Miyajima as well, but probably in the late afternoon/evening to watch the sunset. How was it there?

I forgot the hours of when they close for each day, but the weather was sunny, but it was a bit breezy and cold. I think the weather is now a bit warmer, but bring a jacket.
It was facscinating to see. The ferry ride is about 10 min each way, and there are deer on the island, but signs are posted on not to feed them. You can buy oysters as Hiroshima is known for their oysters, and also have their own version of the Okonomiyaki. Osaka has their own version as well.
I am now in Shinagawa Tokyo again. The Shinkansen ride was about just under 6 hours long from Hakata station(Fukuoka) to Shinagawa.
Enjoy your time in the Kansai region. I am off to see Ueno park and the Cherry blossoms again. I wonder how Wynter is enjoying her trip so far.

let me know if you guys want to possibly meet up in Tokyo if you are in the area.

i think i took some photos of some plumb blossoms trees, i think that is what they are called, but there were about a half dozen or so trees that are just blooming, and i was told that next week there will be even more, and by early April i believe it will be all bloomed by then. I got some good photos in, and when i get back i will photo up some on here.
The weather in Tokyo has warmed up some, since arriving 10 days ago, it is now near 22 degrees celcius, and sunny. So i think that should speed up the blooming of cherry trees even more.
