its pay back, for the guys...But the Japanese do take it seriously, and it is all over advertised in many stores and malls. I was just surprised it wasn't a national holiday where the employees of companies get that day off as well.

New Haneda terminal shown to media prior to October opening

Monday 02nd August, 10:36 AM JST

TOKYO —
The new international terminal building at Haneda airport was shown to the media Monday in advance of its opening in October along with the launch of an additional runway at the airport in Tokyo. The five-story building, with 74 shops and restaurants in areas accessible to all visitors and 31 stores in the security area for passengers who have completed embarkation procedures, also features a planetarium and a section with scenery recreating the Edo period (1603-1867) on the upper floors.

Japan Airport Terminal Co., the operator of Haneda airport, expects some 7 million users per year of the new terminal, whose construction began in May 2008. Keihin Electric Express Railway Co. and Tokyo Monorail Co. will transport passengers to a new station planned to be located near the terminal.
Following the Oct. 21 launch of the new fourth runway at Haneda, additional regular international flights will start on Oct. 31, with new slots linking Tokyo with locations such as Bangkok, Singapore, Hawaii, San Francisco and Paris. Currently, Haneda, which mainly handles domestic flights, offers only short-distance international flights to and from some destinations in South Korea and China.
