As I mentioned previously I am currently watching the NHK " Sakura" series that is being shown now in NY. On this week's past episode #112 they had Yukiyoshi speak English briefly as his character Katsutagi sensei. Of course his English was flawless. I can't wait to see Yukiyoshi Ozawa on the Big Screen in an English speaking role holding his own with some major movie stars. I have no doubt that he could give anyone in Hollywood a run for their money in the acting department.

Sure zEn,

If I get any info on Yukiyoshi I try my best to post it here. It is a thread about him and right now I don't have much info on him. I was hoping more people would come in and fill in the blanks. Until then I am having fun meeting new folks here and seeing friends like you from other MBs. Thanks for stopping in zEn.

Hey, I have the Ozawa sighting in Yoshitsune. He begins his appearance in episode 12. This just aired recently in Japan/TV Japan so it will be a few weeks until it is shown in the US with Eng subs. If I figure out how to get a screenshot, I'll post something here.

dochira.....You are the best!!!!! Thank you! BTW I have not forgotten your suggestion to post my "Sakura" cast list at the other thread, I've been a little short on time this past week. I will get to it as soon as I am able. I do not think I will be able to see " Yoshitsune" on TV where I live when it airs. Shake Head Smile

Hey...

I'm in SoCal, so I'm an episode or two behind you guys... Check the KTSF thread (http://jdorama.com/viewtopic.4784.htm) and the Yoshitsune thread (http://jdorama.com/viewtopic.5197.htm)...

And yeah, I've been talking with the other NorCal guys about Bewitched, but none of them have IATV access... Puppy Dog Eyes

Hey bmwracer,
I haven't gotten a chance to watch Bewitched yet. The schedule for iaTV is kinda weird...the dont show a show at the same time every day. I was wondering if there are english subs....

I e-mailed the IATV guy, and he said all of their televised shows have English subs. Thumbsup

We need someone to record it...! Sweat

Uh, this is the wrong thread to be discussing this... See my Ryoko-chan thread...

No way...now I'm sad Puppy Dog Eyes If I could somehow get a copy of the translations, I would be able to include them in the DVD rip I'm getting. Then we would have Ryoko in HQ and be able to fully understand them.

Thanks dochira for going to all the trouble! Big Grin

Aya: I just watched the trailer for the tenth time so far... w00t! I need to check a foreign film viedo store to rent this film. I also clicked on the link to email the distributor to see if I can purchase it. I was watching some of the early Sakura episodes and I forgot how built Yukiyoshi is! Very impressive but the sterotype there is if a guy is so built he might be superficial and too into his looks. What do you think?

PostPosted: Fri Apr 08, 2005 6:46 am    Post subject: Vanity, or Role Preparation??? Reply with quote Back to top

Hey All!

That's a good point about the stereotype in Japan about being to muscle-bound. But do you think he's the vain type, or maybe he just buffed up so he could be convincing as a gym teacher? Actors are always changing their appearance for a role, maybe this is the case... I'd rather think it's that than think such a handsome and talented guy is vain. Applaud

Also Enna, let me explain why I loved the "English Scene" so much and why I thought it was convincing. The English felt appropriate to me because it seemed like Katsuragi wanted to make his emotional point so emphatic that he switched to Robby's native language so that Robby would know how serious this was. I thought Katsuragi switched so there could be a different and perhaps deeper level of communication between he and Robby. I loved it. It was like they opened a new dialogue. My jaw was on the floor, and my eyes were bugged outta my head! Shocked
I'll say it again: I loved it!

Can't wait to see what happens next when Katsuragi sees Sakura again after her much-needed breakdown. I bet he'll take one look in her eyes, and know that her heart was broken. Which I predict will make him melt for her even more. Then maybe she will finally start to sense that he has feelings for her........only now she'll realize that she no longer has that corny ring on her finger! w00t!

I'm at work tonight so I'll be able to check back often. Hopefully y'all are online!

zEn

Read this article for an interview with Yukiyoshi. He actually makes a comment in regards to putting his hands in his pockets! Aya: Was that you that noticed his tendancy to do that?
