Just to even things out... I loved this movie. Couldn't stand the TV series.

Partly because I'm a Miki fan. But mostly because I thought so much of the sweet fantasy aspect of the story was lost when they tried to turn it into an frenetic, slobbering piece of slap stick.

Oh, and did I mention I'm a Miki fan?

Speaking of Nakatani Miki... her English is really good.

So that's the suprise at the end of the credits. Unfortunately, I only have the cam-rip which didn't tape to the end of the credits.

Does anyone know where I can get the DVD-rip? I'd like to see what the cameo was about.

Thanks for the offer but I found a DVD-rip version with the cameos in it. Again, I appreciate the fact that you offered to do that anyway.

@Dakari

BoxTorrents has a DVD-rip of it with subtitles. If you have an account at BoxTorrents, you can get it there.

What files were included in the torrent you downloaded and what media player are you using?

It's probably using softsubs (.srt, .smi). Use VobSub and VLC.

WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILER!

I finished watching the movie today, and stopped to tell My Lovely Wife (MLW) about it.

I watched the TV series earlier this week ("Train Man" has been the first Jdorama I've ever seen), and I much prefer the movie version. The acting is better, and while I did miss some of the side-characters (Misuzu especially - I loved how she went from "Evil slutty office girl" to "Not-quite-evil office girl Wink - I showed MLW the "Strip!" scene and she thought it was cute).

I like to think that the story was all real, just it showed how destiny brought them together multiple times. As the forum said, he was there to make Hermes happy, so maybe Destiny kept playing its card until he finally picked it up.

Of course, that's just my opinion - I could be wrong.

You my friend are a steely eyed missile man. Thanks for the link - it's funny reading through it. Different from what the TV showed - here, Densha seems less geeky in a good way (like how he actually held the older guy instead of just getting pummeled by him).

It's such a sweet story. Thanks for the link!

John

Did you know that there's a Densha Otoko Movie2006? My friend told me last week, but first I didn't believe it. She has the movie, and she told me, that it's great.

Yup - the official movie comes to the states in January/February ( I plan on getting it to show to My Lovely Wife), but I saw the fansubbed version.

I enjoyed it more than the TV series. There were elements to the TV series that I enjoyed (I loved the "evil office girl who had a good heart" storyline, but the movie made Densha less pathetic and more real feeling to me.

Sorry - I learned of the spoiler tag after I posted that.
