I didn't enjoy the Densha Otoko movie so much as I did the TV drama. The movie is so different from the drama that it's hard to compare them. They share titles and character names, but not much else. Generally, the movie is much more somber and the contrast in Hermes' and Dehsna's lives are not so finely drawn. I also wasn't happy with the casting. Yamada Takayuki is a fine actor, but he is all wrong for this part -- he's too "pretty" to be Densha. Also, Nakatani isn't drop-dead gorgeous so she isn't pretty enough to be Hermes. btw, i heard oguri shun is in the drama. i already watched the movie, but i'm interested in watching the drama solely for him...wonder if it's on youtube..... _________________ it's true one can be overwhelmed, and sometimes even underwhelmed. but can't you just be like, whelmed?!?!?!

This is one of the best movies ever....Yamada's performance was awesome...and the story inspired a lot of otakus...

i liked the movie a lot! tried watching the drama but i only hung on till episode 2 to see oguri shun n bahhh, he barely appears. is the drama nice? wondering if i shd cont watching cos somehow e drama seems a lot slower as compared to the movie [duhhh but still =p]. i tink the guy as densha otoko looked really good after his makeover, like the huge contrast btwn keroro gunso-lookalike n tt cute dude who keeps crying. haha. and ms hermes is simply WAY TOOO NICE. are there such nice ppl in the world? shes so soft-spoken and nice.
