ahh i havnt watched that many jdramas yet!
but blah!~

1. Love Generation --> i dono man.. i hate to say it.. but i found it rather cute watchin those two :x
2. GTO --> started it all for me!~

I haven't watched that many Jdramas...but so far I think these are the top 5 on my list:

1)Wedding Planner
2)Yamato Nadeshiko
3)Hero
4)Friends (2002)
5)Oyaji

It's quite tough to list only 5 J-dorama that I like because I like most of the doramas that I've watched. But...here it goes:

1. Love Revolution
2. Good Luck!!
3. Long Vacation
4. GTO
5. Star no Koi

Basically, I will not list dorama with sad endings even though I am not against to watch it. It's just because that life is just too good to be wasted on sad tears (perhaps that's why my top 5 J-dorama above basically contains humour)

How about "Your 5 Worst drama of all time?"
I already know some candidates! *secret*

Five worst drama? hmmm..here it goes:

1. Living Single (booooorrriiing)
2. Rocket Boy (boorrringgg)
3. Love Complex (eh..?? too weird)
4. First Love (I can't imagine how kyoko fukada ended up in this boring drama)
5. Handoku (what a disappointment with the ending )

There you go..I'm not against weird drama or something unusual but please...just don't make it like x-file spoof (see love complex), boring as hell like living single (Takako..I don't hate you but you were in the wrong drama) or First Love..shockingly boring (poor Kyoko..). Yuji Oda also have made a wrong choice by appearing in Rocket Boy, although there are some funny bits in that drama but overall is just boring. As for Handoku...Tomoya is just kakoii but that drama made me so upset and I kept thinking..WHY!!

How can it be possible to pick out the best 5 dramas? i mean... they're all so good... I would say the top dorama would be GTO... but there are jdramas of all genres and styles and i think it would be quite impossible to judge the top 5 fairly...

having said that... its also difficult to pick the worst 5 So far i've watched quite some jdramas already but i havent really found any one that REALLY turns me off completely yet...

5) Shomuni

seems like 99% liked Beautiful Life... maybe i'll buy it after all

2- Papa wa Newscaster (my first watched drama back in 1989)
3- Keizoku/Harmonia (tie)
4- Hitoribocchi no kimi ni
5- Food Fight

I just finished watching Beautiful Life. I can't understand why so many people are in love with the series.

I thought the plot was kind of interesting, but none of the characters were really likable to me. TKimura's "cool" image really doesn't appeal to me...just by sniffing every now and then (the "whatever" sniff) and giving nonchalant responses doesn't make him "cool" in my book.

And Kyoko (don't know the actress' name) was sooo annoying. She pouts and weeps...and she doesn't claim any confidence for herself until the end of the series. And plus, I didn't feel the chemistry between her and Kimura...most of the romance sequences would be 10 minutes of arguing/indifference, and all of a sudden Kimura would start making out with her. I just didn't believe any of it at all.

I applaude the creator for changing my perception of handicapped people, though. But this series was still a huge disappointment.

hahahah IMO he has a real manly characteristic about him
