What is Will Turner's real identity is about. and the final climatic battle is awesome!!!
the only thing that annoys me is the english of Chow Yun Fat.

Picked up the boxed set Flags of our Fathers/Letters from Iwo Jima today. 5 discs altogether. I was just going to get Letters, , by itself, but then I thought, "I wanna see EVERYTHING!!" ( I think I've been hanging around Sensei too much )

Just finished watching Flags of our Fathers I didn't watch it in a theater because I read the book, and as a rule, I don't watch a movie if I've read the book because I've already imagined it in my head, and the movie almost ALWAYS gets it wrong. Of the 2 movies, Letters from Iwo Jima is the better of the two.

See, I don't get that...I would watch the filmed version of a novel. I think of it like, this is another person's appreciation of a piece of art. _________________

That depends on the novel. Some books could never be adequately turned into a movie. Geez, film-makers have regularly stuffed up even comics, what chance to they have with a full novel?

Hmmm, I suppose that's one way of looking at it. The thing is, the book was well over 200 pages, and to condense that down into 2 hours, they end up leaving things out, taking short cuts, etc. That's what drives me nuts, is when I see the film and say, "Geez, how come they left that part out?!!?"
