Forgot to mention that I saw a number of movie previews that's going to make this one of the better movie summers in a while: Prometheus, The Amazing Spider-Man, and The Dark Knight Rises.

On the ridiculous side: The Expendables 2.

In that movie, it looks like they've dug up every star from action movies of the past... The relics include: Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Arnold Schwarzenegger.... And Chuck Norris (taking a break from his Total Gym commercials, I guess).

We could trade 'em all in and they still won't be worth one Bruce Lee.

Hehe. I felt compelled to say that because I was watching this really cool documentary History Channel on the life of Bruce Lee and his impact on film, culture, and society. I had seen it before but it's one of those things that you don't mind watching again.

That seems to be the consensus from reviewers and moviegoers alike.

Finally saw Captain America. Considering I'm not a real big Cap fan I enjoyed it, plus Chris Evans is very easy on the eyes!

I've seen Thor (Chris Hemsworth is easy on the eyes also! ), and I'm waiting for The Avengers to come out on DVD so I can download it from iTunes. I must admit I'm looking forward to seeing it since the previews have all been really good, and I've read a bunch of good reviews for the movie, and of course I have Chris Evans & Robert Downey Jr. to look forward to.

I didn't see Thor or Cap, since I was never interested in either of those superheroes...

I wasn't that interested in The Avengers as well (superhero teams don't pique my interest), but the buzz was high, so I took a chance... It was better than I thought it would be, though I doubt I'd buy the DVD when it comes out.

I'm really jazzed about the upcoming Spider-Man reboot... It looks really good.

I wasn't really into the Thor or Captain America comics either (I was more into X-Men), but they showed me pretty men & lots of things blowing up in the previews , plus I had just seen & enjoyed Chris Evans in The Losers so I HAD to check it out!

I'm sure lots of people are going to be making lots of comparisons when the new Spider-Man movie comes out. Should be very interesting, yes?

I think so, imoto-chan.

First and foremost, they appear to make Peter Parker smarter and less pathetic... And in this version, he invents his webbing and web shooters, in keeping with the comic book.

Martin Scorsese is to abandon shooting movies on film and turn to digital, after a long-term collaborator conceded the collapse of the format was �gimpossible to fight�h.


The celebrated Hollywood director, who has long campaigned for the use of film and restoration of old prints, has �glost the battle�h and is to shoot his next project, The Wolf of Wall Street with Leonardo DiCaprio, digitally.

It is his first 2D movie to use the format. Last year�fs Hugo, which won an Oscar for cinematography, had to be shot digitally because it was in 3D.

Thelma Schoonmaker, an editor who has worked with Scorsese for 40 years, said: �gIt�fs just impossible to fight it anymore, the collapse of film,�h before adding: �gMarty and I are very depressed about it. It would appear that we have lost the battle.�h

Schoonmaker said in the director there was �gno bigger champion of film�h but that he saw no way back. He has played an active role in contributing to preserving film from the 1980s, and set up the Film Foundation in 1990.

there's a film called 'asylum' starring the late natasha richardson. the building where that film was shot is where i'm working now. it used to be an asylum but we're building there now.

Saw The Amazing Spider-Man... Really good show... Aside from a couple of plot points I think were overlooked and/or underdeveloped, I think this version is superior to the 2002 Sam Raimi original.

I give The Amazing Spider-Man a 9/10.

EDIT: Oh, and the only two notable film trailers were The Dark Knight Rises and Jack Reacher, starring Tom Cruise, which totally surprised me since I never heard about this film until today.
