Yea, same for Canada
I thought we'd have to wait until eight days into the games to get one, like we had to in Beijing. _________________

No kidding. Look what happened in Men's Gymnastics. I'm still in shock! They're gonna be talking about this for weeks.
For the record, I'm glad Japan got the Silver. I was cheering for them to get Gold, but China deserved it. All the booing that happened when Great Britain realized they weren't actually getting the Silver, like announced, was not what Japan deserved. They earned that silver. Still, I can understand how Britain feels. To lose the silver to a team originally ranking 4th is so not expected. _________________

The reporters giving our Swimming team grief because they got the Silver not Gold makes me furious.
As if the Silver is nothing?
As if they hadnt tried their best but the French team was inspired and obviously having a great day.
The press are a bunch of idiots. |
What do you expect? Most Americans cannot even spell Silver.

Yup.
Have to say there's a number of times where I'm happy the US doesn't win the gold and gets a big taste of humble pie.

yes the gymnastics was quite tense in the end. for me i was rooting for both nations, being half japanese an' all, but japan were correct in querying the judges omission of scoring the dismount. in the end gb got a medal they weren't expecting so everyone should be happy.
i suspect the crowd were booing because they weren't told why. _________________

LOL!
I'm gonna end up missing the first half of Girls tomorrow, I think. Depending on when they air it here. I'm so glad Canada made it through. Shocked, really, since we've made it through... like never. I don't think Canadian girls have ever qualified for Gymnastics... _________________

I wish any athlete from any country to be admired for their excellence and commitment. I'd never wish any to lose. But I am proud to say I feel a special thrill when America wins. I am an American, Our athletes do it by choice or their families choice. Not taken as children because they are suited to it. But I was also thrilled for France when their men exceeded their usual best and won the gold. And Japan for getting the silver they rightfully won. _________________

They need a fourth place medal made of Tin. When the athletes go home they can recycle it and receive a small order of fries from McDonald's in exchange.
