didn't get to watch the opening ceremony from the start but from what i've seen, i was really in awe of China's preparations for this..it was really amazing!! actually i was about to cry during the singing performance but then id feel it's stupid of me..
then the parade of nations, my butt was already aching from too much waiting for my country to arrive..
i thought that it's in alphabetical order but then it's said that their order of appearance is according to the number of strokes the country's written in Chinese..so much for randomness..
and whoa at the bird's nest!! damn big alright..wonder how many people were there all in all during that time..
be cheering for my country, Philippines!! and Japan..hehe..
and im most enthusiastic for is between USA and China!! goodluck!!
better check the game schedule..only interested in volleyball, some water sports, gymnastics, taekwondo, is there ice skating and i think synchronized swimming is included too?? _________________

Watched part of the Opening Ceremonies and what I saw was pretty darn awesome. Looking forward to watching basketball, track, swimming, gymnastics and wrestling, but I'll watch whatever else I can.

The opening ceremonies was really impressive just on sheer manpower alone: they must of had thousands of different performers.
I heard the total number of performers exceeded 10,000. Apparently a performer is only responsible for one part of the show, however long or short it may be. In some performances such as the opening drums there were 2008 performers on stage.
China has set a really high standard for the Brits to match in 4 years.

I'm up at 8 AM and I'm wathcing obscure sports such as team handball and badminton. I love these obscure events. I know badminton is really popular in other parts in the world, but not here. _________________

The opening drum sequence I enjoyed the most ... seeing that everyone was so in sync. Most of the acts were very impressive as well.

I doubt the Brits will be able to match the Beijing Opening Ceremonies ... as they probably won't be willing to dish out the oodles of money on such an event, as did the Chinese. Plus, China probably had more incentive to impress the outside world, but with England less so.
