I want to watch this film and I am interested in purchasing it, so I was wondering if anybody has seen this film...it ran for a limited period of time in New York and Tokyo. It was supposed to play in other cities but I guess they opted for a DVD release instead. Any thoughts or reviews, please share....

yeah...and it's filmed totally on location in tokyo...the story seems like a good one. hmm...i wonder if anybody will chime in about this over the next couple of days.....i'll probably end up getting it just to satisfy my curiousity....as it doesn't appear that this movie will ever air at any arthouse movie houses in my area...at least not for the foreseeable future.

hehe...yeah i hate how there are fewer and fewer independant cinemas down here in so. cal, let me know if it's worth watching ^^. If you're in the SD area theres an asian film festival at the UCSD campus, there was one last year don't know if they're gonna have it again though ><. That might be your best bet to see this film on the big screen, especially since hikikomori is emerging as an increasingly popular subject of academic research.

yeah the only one that i view indie films at is laemmle's either in hollywood or pasadena. thanx for the advice. in any event i bought the dvd so if it's interesting i'll let you know.

the phenomenon of the hikikomori is definitely of interest... i think it adds an extra dimension of interest with regard to my desire to view this film....
