But seriously, none of what happened above was unprovoked given the history on this very board.

If Golgo-13's all a twitter over meeting someone famous like 'The Gropenator' then mentioning it here seems cool to me.
The nasty responses that followed:
"Who asked you?"
"...in case you can't read"
"Who the hell asked you"
"...smartassed comments"
were out of line though.
Unless of course Golgo-13 was hoping to become the site's resident jerk.
If that's the case... he's doing pretty good so far. |
You probably just made yourself an enemy, Geez.

Hrm, just reread. Yeah, those remarks seem a bit overboard. But really, did you expect the voice of reason from a person whose avatar is that of a mafioso pointing a gun?
Am I the only one that finds it comical when people attempt to act tough in anonymous arenas?

Chirp, Chirp (Cricket sound)
So how about that drama...

I like your sense of humor.
On a related note, although most folks like to bash Arnold for his mediocre acting, I thought he did a respectable job in Kindergarten Cop.

Like-ability (is that a word?) and acting qualities are totally un-related. We keep making the mistake of mixing the two. On an earlier thread, there was a heated discussion about Adam Sandler... Same exact thing -- he can't act, but people love him. If anyone's to blame for this, it's the movie companies who believe (and they're right) that likeable actors are worth more in money than great actors. Great actors collect oscars and emmy's -- likeable actors draw $$$$$ in the theaters and DVD sales.

I am aware of the difference, Groink. I've taken acting classes and attended a HS that was a School of the Arts. Of course, Ronald Reagan was president back then and I rode to school on a velociraptor.

Sorry, that wasn't directed at you. I thought I covered myself with the word "we" in there, as in the whole population.

No problemo. On an interesting note, I'm not sure if folks are aware of this, but Schwarzenegger is doing his stint as Governor for free. He turned down the salary.
While folks may dismiss this act of generosity in not accepting the salary as immaterial, since he's already wealthy, there are plenty of wealthy politicians in Legislative and Executive branches that are comparably wealthy yet taking a salary.
