I read somewhere that there is a special episode of "Good Luck." I did a search on Youtube and found two clips that showed how they filmed this series along with actor/actress interviews. Someone please let me know if they comprise the special episode people were talking about and if there's more to it. Link to clips:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4Lu9tWaL-E
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTG2SV_WhSQ

The clips have Chinese subtitles. I can read most of it but I would also like a higher quality version with English subtitles if available.

My Review: 7/10

Ifm a little disappointed in this drama. Not because it was bad. In fact, this drama was very good. I think my expectations for it were just too high. Ifve heard so many grand reviews that my anticipation swelled to the point where I was expecting nothing but the best.

To be fair, the cast truly delivered. Kimura was brilliant, as usual, and it was nice to see him portray a character in moments of weakness. Shibasaki Kou was charming and truly shined in that modest, humble way she has with her audience. I was truly shocked with Tsutsumi Shinichi and his portrayal of Koda Kazuki. I have only previously seen him in Lunch Queen and his character was completely different. I was very impressed with his performance. Uchiyama Rina was really annoying in the beginning. Her pathetic, pushy character was not at all appealing. However, after her starring episode, when she fell back into just being an gextrah, she became a silly, loud, colourful personality again and was easier to watch. Of course, to balance her painful role, there was Kuroki Hitomi. I could tell right away that she is a gifted actress with quite a bit of experience. Ifm still in shock that shefs nearly fifty. She has far more star quality and talent than most actresses in the business today.

It was the plot that let me down. The story was far too average. It was one big clicheL. We have the protagonist (Kimura) who is a young, handsome, upbeat individual who acts carefree but is really in love with his job and has a deep soul. Then we have the antagonist (Tsutsumi), who is perfect in all things the protagonist fails in, and causes much grief for the protagonistc in the beginning. The protagonist than realizes that the antagonist is in fact a nice guy and begins to respect him. In the end, the protagonist proves himself to the antagonist by some heroic act, and thereby makes himself equal to the antagonist, who in turn acknowledges and befriends/respects the protagonist. In the midst of all this, we have the female lead (Shibasaki) who is simply there as a vessel through which both the protagonist and antagonist can reveal their inner selves to the audience. Mix in some extras for comedy relief, and you have yourself a story.

I was disappointed when Kodafs past experience was revealed. It seemed really anti-climatic. I was assuming that he was the survivor of a crash, but instead the incident was lame. I was also disturbed by Shinkaifs quick decision to go through a surgery that had less than 10% success rate. If he cared about flying as much as he claimed, why gamble so readily? And his recovery took all but 5 minutes of the show. Why all the drama if youfre not going to play up the part? Because the main plot is thin, each episode has an inciting incident specific to that one episode. If it hadnft been for the amazing talent in this drama, Ifm not sure if I would have enjoyed it.

As it stands, this drama does have an amazing cast, and I enjoyed the dramac regardless of its blueprint plot.

Have to agree Sensei. I really liked it up until Kimura's "accident" and at that point I just rolled my eyes and thought, "Oh, geez, here we go! Welcome to cliche city", this really needed a rewrite the last 2 or 3 episodes.

Yea, it's like suddenly the writers ran out of episodes and therefore clumped ten things into two. Shake Head

Thats one of the big differences I am starting to see as I watch more Jdramas.... it seems that the japanese writers are either not as good at hiding cliche as their american counterparts or they just dont care. Im sure its the latter and probably a cultural thing.

i have to agree with Wynter. i oso put in high hopes for this drama becos kimura is in it but the whole show turn out to be so average. if shown on a heartbeat monitor, the line did not fluctuate much. the episode-ly incident did put mi down at first but surprising, wat keep mi watching was partially due to the airplane cockpit. haha! i will say, because of this show, i wana be a pilot! Big Grin though im disappointment with the story and old plot but i feel that it's still nice watching too.

quite contradicting rite? when we are sae the plot is old and the show is average but we still sae we enjoyed watching. haha! in the other words, didnt the backstage crew did a great job? Smile

i enjoyed watching it...i mean yeah, it was a bit like Rolling eyes when the accident happened but the writers do need something to dramatise their dramas...makes sense huh! haha

the 'making of..' of Good Luck!! is really cute! i loved all the promo shots where they sat in the toy plane Mr Green

I finished this dorama the other day and I have to say I was very impressed with it.
So rarely do I get to see a drama with such a satisfying end, everything was tied up (not like most of these shows that leave an open ending).
The story may have been a bit cliche, but I was ok with that because the acting was good and I was really interested in the character relationships and I just really wanted to see how everything would turn out.
Though I was a bit 'oi' when the leg thing happened, when he first fell I thought it would be something to do with his sight but I shoulda guessed it woulda been his leg. As soon as the Doctor explained the situation I was almost sure that he would have an operation ready that would have a low percentage of success XD but I stuck with it and I must say I was thankful that they just cut out the operation and recovering and stuff... I'm tired of seeing it ^^;
As I said I was impressed with the acting, all played their parts well (though initially Rina was very annoying!) Tsutsumi suprised me the most. I only watched him in Lunch no Joou the day before and wasn't expecting him to be in this drama so when he popped up and I saw his acting, needless to say I was VERY suprised his acting was superb!
Anyway I loved the dorama <3 Very much! I'm so glad I watched it! ^_^

Good luck is maybe the first japanese drama I watched . Maybe 4 years ago , at first time . I don't know how many times I watched it then .
For me it is not that the drama is sooo great , it is just the relationship between takuya et kou . They're just great
