I initially had "detritus," but thought "flotsam" was more appropriate... Then I thought, "do I include to ad 'jetsam'?"

I decided not. Wink

Haha thanks, I think she will. I know it's really bizzare, we've asked her over and over if that's REALLY where she wanted to go- and it's definetly Mc Donald's.

It just goes to show you that your a lot easier to make happy when you're 8.

Hey I've had a birthday at McD and Chuck E Cheese. It's all good when you're young. Now if I were 21 and having them there.... Sweat

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a curry pizza in Japan. They do have a seafood one, right?

this pizza place near my house has a toro-sashimi pizza appetizer. hehe

seriously. the cheese pizza (tomato wasabi sauce) is cooled a bit, then they put the sashimi on top before they serve it.

that sounds a bit odd....but for some strange reason it caused me to think of nobu matsuhisa's "new style sashimi" --one his restaurant's trademark heavenly dishes.
----
Nobu's New Style Sashimi

Serves 4 as an appetizer
New-style sashimi, one of Nobuyuki Matsuhisafs trademark dishes, was invented when a customer sent a plate of sashimi back to the kitchen because he didnft like raw fish; the recipe was Nobufs solution to the problem.

1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds

3 ounces sashimi-quality fluke fillet, thinly sliced crosswise on the diagonal

1 small clove garlic, minced

Ginger, peeled and finely julienned, to taste

Chives, cut into 1 1/2-inch lengths, to taste

2 teaspoons soy sauce

2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

2 teaspoons sesame oil

1. In a small skillet over medium heat, cook sesame seeds until fragrant and golden. Remove to a small bowl.

2. Arrange fish on a plate. Rub with garlic. Sprinkle ginger and chives over fish. Drizzle with soy sauce and lemon juice. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

3. Heat olive and sesame oils in a small saucepan until they begin to smoke. Pour over fish; the hot oil will sear the fish as it makes contact.

I personally don't like to see good fish (that could be eaten raw) seared. I really wish I could tell a restaurant that served seared tuna. "Uh, please don't touch the pan with that fish, at all."

i love sashimi, but trust me, you have to try it....

edit: you don't sear the fish in the pan you just heat the oil enough to very lightly warm the fish.....
