That's what I thought... I guess it's SOP for HMOs.
Just got back: first order of business is 4-5 weeks of physical therapy (they'll probably put me on a rack... I'll be 6'-4" when they're done), then steroid injections, if needed.

re-watched a clip of Urban Tokyo, that Tu provided on the Going to Japan thread, very cool, reminded me of my Tokyo trip.
it's crazy huh...all the spots they go...i like the fact that they have different ppl hosting the various segments...it's like a mini-field trip with different ppl.

Hmm, I thought I mentioned it in the past: sciatica induced by a bulging disc at L4 and L5-S1.
i think you did...this isn't a dig or anything...i'm just surprised that after all that riggamorol you went through the advice is physical therapy....i would have started there first, at a chiropractor, and had he/she take all the necessary steps such as x-rays or mri's...but then again you might have an HMO...all health insurance is pretty much f*Cked...but HMOs are definitely worse than PPOs...

Yeah, with an HMO you do get passed around like a bad cold.
Glad I don't have anything serious, else I'd be hosed.

hospitals can suck it to....those f*ckers try to overcharge you for the everything and anything....there is absolutely no accountability or cost control....they're just waiting to shove the plunger up your ass at any and all times...
case in point...a while back i had a full blood panel done...when the insurance initially balked at paying ANYTHING i got the bill and for this standard blood test the bill was 1,100 dollars...i basically said "f*ck you i'm not paying that and you better resubmit that shiet to the insurance co." they did....after 5 weeks I finally get an amended bill showing the same blood test they were going to charge me OVER a thousand dollars for they only charged the insurance company only about 100 dollars...because they have agreements with insurance co. regarding discounting services...those muthaf*ckers.....my final co-pay was 78 bucks...down from over a GRAND...
shows that you, despite health insurance business practices sucking ass...if you don't have it you can be f*cked...
bulding disc at L4 and L5-S1.......i have no idea what that means, but sounds painful
It just means that the two gelatinous, elastic discs which separate my vertebrae in my lower spine are compressed to a point where they are bulging. And that unfortunately is pinching a nearby nerve (sciatic nerve), causing occasional pain and tingling/numbness in my (left) leg.
