i have this manga and i saw a lil bit of boys over flower anime. also the taiwanese version.

i can't wait til it comes out. i have a feeling this will top the taiwanese version just cuz it's closer to home.

Yeah, Mao Inoue is new but not THAT new. As soon as I found out that she also starred in Kyumei Byoto 24 Ji 3, I went ahead and scanned through my boxset. True enough, there she is, Mao Inoue, in the first few episodes of the dorama, looking extremely cute but pissed off. In case any of you are wondering, she's the girl who repeatedly tried to commit suicide but finally warmed up to the kindness of the people around her, especially Daijiro Kawaoka's character who appeared in the dorama as Shun Oguri's older brother!

So true indeed. In fact she's been acting since she's 8/9 years old and she's known for her role as Akane in Kids War (1998-2002/2003)

i think i would definitely look forward to HYD than MG. jun's a pretty and good actor than the taiwanese MG f4 actors who i think are based more on their looks. the latters' acting were pretty boring, in my opinion.
and i think the age group for HYD suits better than MG cos f4 were pretty old to be acting students... well... but hey, jun's hairstyle is really cool!!! He looks better with short hair..???

ps: i've read the manga and watched the anime of HYD and the story's pretty long... how r they going to fit all those into a 12 series dorama???

The name of the main theme song is "Planetarium." In it, it makes a lot of referrences to meteors and stars. I'm not to familiar with the original "Hana Yori Dango" story. Do meteors hold significance in it? I mean, the Taiwanese remake was called "Meteor Garden," so what's the deal?

I think they're just going to cut out scenes (lots of them)... and the plot may be altered a bit I think to fit the drama.

that reminds me, I should start reading the manga...at first i was soooo angry cuz it wouldn't dl because of lack of seeders and now it's lying in my arashi folder...UNTOUCHED

haha, 4 vols per ep? well, they are definitely picking just SOME on the chapters, that's what they have done in all doramas so far! OR it could mean that there's a 2nd season coming~ *that#s how rumors come to be* ^^

all I've read is the 1st vol so far, seen the first anime ep and watched the (unrelated) movie.
btw, wouldn't Jun be great in a live action remake of the HYD anime movie, cuz it's about 'big D' being a professional dancer right~?

maybe being only 9 eps will be good... so it wont be sooo drawn out... then again they're prolly cutting out a lot of good stuff too

but i remember watching meteor garden... where every few eps, the situation was exactly the SAME again and i was like

then again it didnt follow the manga all THAT closely soooo, im sure HYD will be reeeally good and with jun and shun looking sooo hot... how could it not be good?! hehehe cant wait for oct 21
