When in the summer? And where are the relatives located in L.A.?

If you show up in August, you could check out the annual Nisei Week Festival in Little Tokyo.... Smile

Not a whole lot... Little Tokyo is sorta evolving at the moment: Most Japanese have moved out of the area and non-Japanese businesses are beggining to move in... Sweat

Still, there are a number of nice restaurants and the Japanese-American Museum is located there... Smile

BTW, check out the Nisei Week/Little Tokyo thread: http://jdorama.com/viewtopic.1411.0.htm Victory! Peace!

Thinking of taking a cruise to hawaii.. maybe in july... cheaper than flight and hotel, since i know almost no one i can stay with now. probably won't be able to do as much, but i need some sort of break, and it's a pretty good deal.

Lot's of places to eat around there, Beem can probably help more, since he's "south" of LA, i'm more east.

Definitely check out Melrose blvd for some nice boutique shopping. I guess you could hit up Little Tokyo and Sawtelle for the japanese oriented stuff.

I recently visited the Badlands in my Province.

Pics:

I was actually lucky that they're located in my own city, just a lil' north. The major badlands site is in Alberta.

My cousin just came back from Taiwan. He spent two weeks there. I haven't been myself, though.

He went there to work for two weeks, so he said he felt like he was being rushed. He said eating there is way cheap and they have some beautiful locations (nature). He said the people are also kind and lovely.
