I don't think Japan can hold a candle to America when it comes to such highly specialized medicine such as organ transplantation.
Weird. Must be because they mostly have only tiny medical clinics, because there must be 1000s of those a year here, and we're less in the entire country than in Tokyo. _________________

I am speculating here, but I think the expertise when it comes to organ transplantion is probably still tops here...so it's no surprise when a Japanese crime boss, where money is no object, decides to come to the US to have the operation done...moreover, I think the donor pool of organs for transplant is probably higher here given the much large population in general, of organ donors.
It's like when you here those stories of radical Muslim clerics who are antagonistic to the West still fly to London for medical treatment.

I was waiting for the other shoe to drop...I knew ths oyabun must have given money to UCLA in order to be able to jump ahead of hundreds of people waiting longer than him for an organ transplant. Once again...money talks and bullshiet walks...no matter if the money is dirty...earned from whores, illegal gambling, or whatever...it's truly the American way!
From what I heard, the FBI helped them out in return for information on mobs here in the states. Because they were known criminal figures they would usually be denied entry visas. The hospital on the other hand doesn't do background checks on patients, only their physical health and appropriateness of the transplant.

Ok. but... Usually these guys don't last very long once they talk to the cops. I hope he talk about a rival gang's business partners.

Makes sense.

As many as five people might have died and at least 9 more were wounded after a man went on a knife rampage through Tokyo's popular electronics district on Sunday, Japanese media reported.
The unidentified man began stabbing passers-by in the Akihabara area in the early afternoon, NHK television reported, showing footage of several ambulances stopped in the district's crowded streets.
At least 14 people were stabbed. As many as five might have died, NHK said.
Akihabara, traditionally home to retailers of electronics and gadgets, has become synonymous in recent years with Japan's expansive "nerd" culture of video games, comic books and outlandish fashion.
Popular with locals and tourists, the area is often crowded on weekends.

wow, that is crazy, but shit like this is unacceptable, not going to stop me from visiting akiba in the future, open a can of whoop arse if he comes near me or my maid-o cafes, esp Arisa.
they close down the street on Sundays for the street performers, unless they did an end to that, thanks to that infamous wack'd beyotch. lol
A suspect, said to be 25-year-old Tomohiro Kato, has been arrested near the scene.
...
"The suspect told police that he came to Akihabara to kill people," Mr Akaogi told reporters.
"He said he was tired of life. He said he was sick of everything," he added.
...
Once rare in Japan, there has been an increase in knife crime in recent years.
In January, a 16-year-old school boy armed with two kitchen knives injured several people on a crowded shopping street in Tokyo's Shinagawa Ward.
The Akihabara attack occurred on the same date that a man with a history of mental illness went through a primary school in 2001, stabbing children at random.
Eight children died and 15 pupils and teachers were injured in that attack, in a school in Ikeda, in the city of Osaka.

Itai.
It's like they're copycating the crap here in the States but using knives instead of guns...

Crazy.
Everyone here is in shock. Although rare, heinous acts like this do happen here. I was in Odaiba yesterday watching D1GP and was gonna stop through Akiba on the way home but didn't since I was feeling tired. Thank God I didn't. I think Kato (killer) drove and plowed through Chuo Dori, the main street in Electric Town. Chuo Dori is closed off on Sundays because Akiba gets crowded on the weekend. I could only imagine the chaos during the incident. My heart goes out to the victims and their families.

Argh! I don't understand why people go forth and kill OTHER people when they're the ones sick and tired of life.
