The Japanese do not steal. PERIOD. I remember going to a beach in Kamakura and forgot my snorkeling gear in the parking lot. I was already 5 kilometers down the road mind you and returned to find my stuff untouched. If this were Hawai'i or California, my ish would've been scooped with the quickness. 99.99% of the time I feel completely safe. I don't feel I will get jacked walking down the street late night. I do not lock my car at home and sometimes I leave my front door unlocked when I go out.

Typical knee-jerk reaction: people are wailing about the safety of nuclear reactors now...
You raise a good point. Much of the reporting from various news reporting agencies/sources worldwide regarding the Japanese nuclear reactor issue has been widely inaccurate and sensational. Without a doubt, the threat is real but the lack of factual reporting is creating confusion and generating unnecessary hysteria in an already tense situation.

Really? In france, the politicians speech is " we have no informations, blahblahblah, Nuclear is good for health"...
I suppose that's because France's politicians are the strongest nuclear energy supporters in Western Europe, an important income as they sell electricity to neighboring countries. You may recall that they went as far as denying the Chernobyl cloud, insisting that it had stopped at the Alps, when the rest of Europe was getting instructions on how to protect themselves. My French friends are still angry abt that.
