Type-casting... it seems Japanese actors/actresses seem to get stuck in this. Common, eh? |
for sure....in any event yui ichikawa should leave her large dumbo ass ears at home because aoi miyazaki, all joking aside, was so incredibly well cast for this role...it's beyond debate.
the trailer was a mixed bag for me.....filled with anticipation and slight revulsion given yui's big-earred performance.

LOL! My sentiments exactly (tho perhaps a harsher version ). I'm not a fan of Yui's at all, but I'm sure even a true fan, after having seen the first Nana and how amazing the chem was between the two nana's, will see that Yui will appear as nothing more than an imposter. _________________

all vitrolic acid aside...yeah....aoi miyazaki's performance was SPOT ON...having benefited from watching the anime which is yet another interpretation of the original manga....i came to further appreciate miyazaki's performance as a consummate portrayal. welps, life is rarely ideal....i hope the sequel will be enjoyable, wynter.

I'm not getting my hopes up. And not only cause of the change in cast, but also the plot. Or what rumours I have heard of the plot. _________________

The original source material is a manga.....written by Ai Yazawa - she is considered a master of shoujo manga....
the anime is a pretty good...it's very funny too....i've been following it myself...the fansubbers are up to about episode 30

For those of you who haven't seen the new trailers yet:
Teaser 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1FNfW1Bg0E
Teaser 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXOxFxqX9QI
Official Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQhL-5_Gmfc
The MV's
MIKA NAKASHIMA - Hitoiro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C38TEccngG8
YUNA ITOH - Truth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWUrfmnqY2I
This is just my little take on the new movie. I know it sucks that Aoi Miyazaki isn't in the sequeal, but, what can you do? She didn't wanna do it because of the whole bed/sex scene thing. And it would be pretty weird if those parts were left out all together. And since the latter volumes of the manga focus on Oosaki Nana and would give Mika Nakashima more screen time, Aoi's management didn't want her to be just a sub-costar. Hopefully Yui Ichikawa is at least decent as Hachi. I'm really glad that Hiroki Narimaya (Nobu) and Maruyama Tomonimi (Yasu) are still in it. They're my favorite characters.
I'm speaking as someone who's read the manga and seen the anime, so I pretty much know what happens. I just watched the trailer and it looks like it's following the manga story line pretty closely. But I'm gonna be somewhat pessimistic about this and keep my hopes at a low, that way, if it's a disappointment, then it'll be alright. _________________

thanks for the info.
I am disappointed that Aoi didn't continue with NANA, but I still look forward to it, with Mika Nakashima.

Thanks Miss Monika,
Just listening to Nakashima Mika singing is enough to make me want to see the movie. Right now the new Aoi replacement seems a little too old or something. She doesn't have that awestruck teenage look that makes Aoi so adorable .
But I'll get by with Mika.

Oh yeah I do, but it always takes sooooooooo long to download. I watched Nana while doing an essay. It worked out well, because it gave me a break to go back and watch it, write some more, watch some more, write some more, watch some more.... SO it's all good.
I watched "The Banquet" based on HAMLET as well.
HAHAHA- seriously essays kill me. _________________
