I think it's NANA the movie where Mika Nakashima as the star of that movie.
The movie is based on Manga.

If it is the movie, then it should be moved to J-ent.

I believe the original poster is requesting information about the movie "NANA", and i think it was based on an anime, a film about a friendship about two girls, one a rocker, punk type girl, and the other, a princess girly type girl(well she isn't actually a princess). Mika Nakashima, and Aoi Miyazaki both star in this movie, that was just released. I am curious myself when this one is available for d/l via BT with english subs.
here is some information i found off the website and i also was reading about it from some japanese magazines from Kinokuniya, this movie is getting a lot of publicity now.

Extended Trailer for NANA 2

http://www.apple.com/jp/quicktime/trailers/toho/nana-movie2/nana_trailer.html

i'll watch it but even from this short clip you can tell that Yui Ichikawa is a poor replacement for Aoi Miyazaki....too bad they couldn't cast her for this sequel as well.

Hachi wa onaji ja nai. Shake Head

Thanks for sharing the trailer, Tu-san!

When I heard that Aoi Miyazaki was gonna be replaced I was against it from the start. Both original Nana's were so perfect for their roles that I felt, if either one was replaced, the storyline just wouldn't be the same. After watching the trailer, I reacted the same as you. Although they've made Yui Ichikawa somewhat resemble the original Nana, there doesn't seem to be the chemistry between her and the other Nana. It was the chemistry that made the first movie so rich and awesome. Poo.

Awh well, I'm in love with the movie enough to watch the second regardless of the casting change.

Why wasn't Aoi cast again?

Yes... Nana will not be the same without Aoi. That movie is so great I watch it once a week... well at least portions.... love the ending...which is really not an ending at all since it just whets your appetite for the sequel.

I hope Nana 2 DVD will be available soon.

I bought Nana from DDD house for around $15 USD including shipping and received it in about a week. Perfect translation on Eng subs and perfect picture clarity..... :

i've heard at least two different arguments...one, that there was a sex scene that aoi miyazaki didn't want to participate in...the other, that aoi miyazaki didn't want to be typecast as the light, fluffly, and sweet type of woman in her acting roles so she opted out of reprising her role as Nana ("Hachi").

Awwwww. If the first is true, I'm sure the producers could have changed things for her. I mean, she DOES have an important role, after all. And for the second, I can understand, but still! >>stomps foot<< She could at least think about her fans!

Type-casting... it seems Japanese actors/actresses seem to get stuck in this. Common, eh?
