Wynter
I sympathize. We had one trick-or-treater this year. The 16 month old from two doors down on her first Halloween. And though she rocked as a ballerina... everyone knew that her mother wasn't gonna let her eat any of the candy. (First child. No sugar, no TV, no anything. Life sucks when your parents still care.)
A few of us gathered in the cul-de-sac, wondering what the heck was happening, because last year we did major business. And we were about to go down the hill to see if something weird had happened, when up walked a dozen or so neighbors from down the hill, wine glasses in hand, bemoaning the lack of trick-or- treaters.
We ended up setting up some chairs and tables in the street and got royally ripped, whining about the lack of kids in the neighborhood.
Turned out to be a pretty good Halloween. Next year we're gonna set it up as a late night wine tasting. I figure we can get a year or two of fun out of it before the cycle comes around again the the neighborhood is over run by hordes of little monsters. _________________

Wow.
That sounds like a cool Halloween tradition to have.

LOL! But I'm a recluse. Without the children you still have mates. Without the children I have nothing but a bowl of chocolates that end up in a gut not wanted.

Wynter & Eve your costumes look cool!
@Geezer you had my kind of Halloween!
I had about 40 kids Trick or Treating at my door this year. Last year I only had 13 kids. I think because Halloween fell on a Saturday and the weather was so warm here, that is why we got such a big turn out of kids this year. They started ringing my doorbell at 4:15PM and ended at 8:00 PM. Plus I saw more teenagers than usual. They were all rushing home or going to Halloween parties to beat the rain that finally came later on.

Thanx, Enna
I used to put out candy but no one ever came. OUr driveway is a dark quarter mile long through the trees so it would take some brave trick or treaters. _________________

I'd be hard pressed to go to your door as well: I'd pass out from walking the quarter mile.

And no one tried this year either.
OK so here are the pics from the second night of Halloween parties.
PeeWee Herman and his elementary school GF.
You two look great!! Another good Christmas photo!!
We didn't get any trick or treaters this year....I think parents are taking their kids to organized events such as Disneyland, the mall or private parties. I'm sure they think it's safer.

Sub-divsions get all the kids around here. Our lots are too large and far between.
^ LOL, that's great!
Though not many mummies wear zoris and train passes.
I was actually going to go without the zoris but we had a tropical storm roll through that night.

Fabulous mummy suit!
Arigatou for the compliments! It took me two days to make and it certainly was a hit. I was getting mobbed for photo ops especially at the train stations.
