Hmm......usually, scanlated mangas are just fansubs and can be found over the net. But you might wanna try Greenhills, some vendors there sell fansubs stuff _________________

Hmm mixed ang aking emotions sa Mars. Personally, na enjoy ko talaga siya.. it was dark and far from the cutesy plotline of Meteor Garden.
Mula sa Puso with Claudine and Rico? that was like.. ages ago ha! tas.. wait.. tama ba ko na yung pangako sa yo.. was that the one with jean garcia and eula valdez?
wow!! galing mo palang magtagalog! haha. awestruck, since i'm so used to seeing you post in english. (understandable, since this thread is mostly filipinos). anyways, i also loved mars. (my being once in love with zaizai aside). it was really good. i also have this tendency to gravitate towards psychologically-imbalanced, dark characters. (i'm weird that way) plus i read the manga before, so i kinda already had something before going into the series. there was a great deal of improvement in their acting. (plus zai was soo hot! whew! hehe.)
anyway, there's also gonna be a ken zhu show there, though i don't really know the title. makes me a bit worried, since i have this nagging feeling that maybe, just maybe, gokusen or any other jdo they buy in the future will be shown in qtv. it that happens, i'll be sad, since qtv is not really that mainstream yet, compared to gma of course. huge percent of the populace will be missing a lot... but still keeping fingers crossed for jdo in pinas tv! _________________

evil_zai.. agree.. ang gwapo ni vic sa Mars.. as in walang pakundangang gwapo di tulad sa MG na super tahimik siya.. heehee.. me too i tend to gravitate towards dark characters. i really enjoyed takki's performance sa Taiyou no Kisetsu.. But that's just me.. Before, asar ako sa fact na ipapalabas na ang Gokusen sa pinas.. pero might as well.. para maiba naman panlasa ng mga Pinoy.

For me, showing jdoramas on QTV-11 is fine. It's better than nothing, diba? And besides, that would keep the jdoramas from being jologs. You wouldn't want ABS-CBN to air jdoramas. You know how good this network is for hyping their programs, like iceuck said earlier, which makes it jologs . So, kung hindi rin lang GMA ang magpapalabas ng jdoramas, mas maganda kung QTV nalang .

But with the way things are going with GMA-7, looks like jdoramas will still be in the underground scene here in the Philippines . _________________

Hyaku-en shops are the best! That's where I buy souvenirs, pasalubongs when I go back home. ( ahhh such a cheapskate!)
ehh... u live in japan? 100+5% =105yen but still cheap ^^
and then i think i saw a shop etse a supermarket/grocery somewhere in taitoku kinda like residential area where they sell items less than hyaku-en.. so price plus tax ends something like hyakuen. please dont ask me where the exact location is coz i only been there once and the only thing i remember it is near bookoff of that district.

err... feata in makati cinema square sells some manga titles at PHP100 each sometimes even with 20% off fyi (but not all titles available.. other titles have to be preorder and might be of higher price)... i still prefer manga than scanlated stuff.... at least for my collections _________________

is that the one on the second floor? the place that sells audio cds as well? GRRR! I used to work beside makati square, I wasn't into mangas then so..boo. I'll try to go back there. Are the mangas in english? I think the last time I checked there (which was probably early last year pa) the mangas weren't in english. I think that was where I found the early albums of SMAP (wahehehehe korni)
I don't live in Japan (although I wish I could ) I just went there twice.

yup yup! iba talaga ang dating. i especially liked how he managed to portray a dangerous yet really exciting guy. sobrang layo kay hua ze lei, and i loved every moment of it. hehe. anyway, on the gokusen thing, my friend and i were just talking yesterday, and we agreed that part of the dilemma would be that if jdos finally break through here, malamang dadami ang merchandise at mas madaling makahanap which would be good, pero on the other hand, nakakatakot isipin na baka mamaya, nagbebenta na yung mga streetvendors ng pictures nila. haha. scary!

you do have a point there. ako rin, gusto ko gma7 ang bumili. i wouldn't want the jdo stars (esp. the ones i like) exploited, just as was done to f4. overkill kasi talaga ang abs when it comes to stuff like that. _________________

hello guys, it is the first time for me to come here, finally i got the access of forum, to be honest, the layout of this forum seems so weired, it cost me much time to get in the right track. i totally do not know what u are talking about, anyway, what i need is just the right for voting my favorite Japanese actor, all things here could be done after a while.

That would only happen if the Kapamilya network is the one that will air jdoramas .

Yeah, talagang overkill ang ABS-CBN to make big profit . But I remember when GMA was showing the first Kdramas that was aired in the country (Endless Love and Love Letter), they did hit the market there without making the stars, and the drama itself, turn out to be "jologs".

It was unfortunate, the wowwowwie incident. Really tasteless prank, if I'd heard one. A fatal one at that, too.
I think I bought some reproduced Utada and Ayumi albums from feata some years back. This is the store at the right side, right ? I always wondered how they were able to pay the rent there. _________________

Sheeesh.....I was just talking about how ABS-CBN are hyping their program so much. And this wowowee incident is now added to the list of the super hyped but mismanaged event of ABS-CBN. This was not the first time that a stampede thing happened in Ultra, involving an ABS-CBN event (the Ken and Vaness concert). Muntik na rin mangyari ito sa isang Big Brother event. History just keep repeating itself. But this time, it's even worse . I guess this network never learn from their mistake . _________________

i think it's because gma7 doesn't fill their shows with segments about them. i remember with f4 before, all the shows on abs had segments of them, from magandang umaga bayan to those late news shows.

yes, it was really sad. and to think all those people really ever wanted was to try out their lucks on the show. imbes na makatulong, nakasama pa. i was at the ken+vanness show, and i remember seeing all those fans running and disregarding the seating arrangements. it seems they're always neglecting security. it was a tragic wake-up call, but a wake-up call nonetheless.

What is the real story behind it? Was it too many people wanting to get in?? I last heard on the news here that someone yelled "Bomb" and the people ran in fear. Was that incorrect?

wow its been a while since I last posted something here... [^-^]
to all new to this thread... WELCOME~!!!
wala pa ding news sa Gokusen n0h.. *sigh* siguro next year na yan joke~! wag naman ui~! kc Feb.6 na starts ng MARS on QTV eh... antagal ding pinalabas... anyways, MARS is really nice and Vic was really cute there...
with the wowowee incident, i really am so sorry for those who were badly injured and more so died... i felt so sorry for them... and i agree it is a wake-up call to everyone... tho with the real story, there are many speculations on how the stampede started, isa na din ung may sumigaw daw na bomb... but i think it would have to be the entrance na din eh... makipot medyo ung daan... and there are lots of gates there as well na hindi kailangan...
sa ABS kc kaya nagiging jologs dahil inooverexpose nila ung drama and the actors on it eh... and the dubbing sux at times... honestly, like on this one drama there i forgot tho on which, the actor seemed to have sucked helium with his voice... honestly... GMA didn't need to somewhat over expose those just to be in the "IN" market... it's really with the whole show itself... no need to further promote it over and over and over... tho im sad that ABS got Rain's drama "A Love to Kill"... I wish 7 had it tho...
and isa din sa kinakatakutan ko eh ung pictures ng ating fave. j-artists eh makita na lang natin na naibebenta sa mga bangketa... which is a bit sad... _________________

Hehe.....sounds like you wanna give her some initiation to join the jdorama community . Yeah, jdoramas are really addictive .
About the wowowee incident, I don't think a stupid prank was the cause of the disaster. I watched the news last night on NBN (a government channel. Didn't watch the news on ABS-CBN and GMA because it might be biased ). And it says that when the north gate was opened, everyone begun to run to the entrance. They were supposed to fall in line. The security even made some sort of a barricade to form a line. But when the crowd realized that not all of them can get in (the maximum capacity of Ultra is 10,000, can accomodate 9,000 seating and the rest will be standing ), the crowd broke the barricade and immediately heads to the gate. Those at the back begun to push the ones in front of them to force themselves to get in. To put it this way, imagine a row of dominos falling. The chain reaction of dominos falling is exactly what happened when the people fell to the ground. The ones at the back then rushed to the entrance, ignoring the people who fell, which caused the stampede.
In my opinion, ABS-CBN is the one to be blamed. They should have expected a massive crowd to come to their event, knowing the prizes that they will give away, and should have done the event in a much bigger location (like Quirino Grand Stand) . _________________
