Sigh, missed her having her B-Day, may have to watch Touch again to celebrate, that was a very enjoyable flick, especially for baseball fans. _________________
Today Toho announced at a press conference that they will hold their "7th Toho Cinderella Auditions", the first in five years. Three of their biggest actresses attended the event to share the experiences from their auditions: winner of the first audition Sawaguchi Yasuko (45), winner of the Special Jury Award at the 2nd audition Mizuno Maki (40) and winner of the 5th audition Nagasawa Masami (23). Masami was the winner of the 5th audition 11 years ago when she was 12 years old.
At the event Mizuno also got inaugurated as the chief of scouts (bucho) and Nagasawa as the assistant chief of scouts (kagaricho). They both talked about their auditions while pictures of them during the audition were shown on the big screen.
Mizuno about the motives that made her want to apply for the auditions, "I always got rejected for being too much like a boy. You could say that I wanted to revenge myself on the world."
Nagasawa revealed that her mother actually filled in "jazz dance" as her special kill in her resume, even though that wasn't true. "At the final judging they asked me to dance, but since that wasn't my special skill I didn't have the confidence to do it and decided that it would be better not to dance. You really have to be honest like that," she laughed.
Toho will start taking applications from July 01st and choose the winner in January next year.
Considering what some people think about her acting, that might be a good thing.
I was referring to the fact that she is the only one on the poster so it was like false advertisement, given her screen time, imho. Besides if people don't like her, I don't think they'd be getting a movie where Masami is on the cover.
