Nagasawa Masami makes her first attempt in a period drama with her appearance in NHK's Taiga, "Komyo ga Tsuji". She plays a Koga ninja by the name of Korin who gets close to Yamauchi Kazutoyo and seduces him with the aim of gaining important millitary information. Nagasawa was initially apprehensive about taking on this role as she needed to turn on the charm of an adult woman but she has never been known for being sexy.
Nagasawa graduated from Horikoshi Senior High school on 16 Feb and decided to concentrate on her acting career instead of going on to university. Her first project as an working adult would be "Rough" due to shown this autumn. One of the biggest selling points of this movie would be seeing Nagasawa putting on a swimsuit for the first time on screen.
Nagasawa was born in June 1987 at Shizuoka Prefecture and is the youngest child in the family. Her father Kazuaki is an ex-member of the national soccer team and played the midfielder position at that time. Currently, he is the soccer coach of Tokiba Gakuen Tachibana Koukou. Her mother is Keiko and she has a 3-year older brother Ryuuta.
Since she was in kindergarten, Nagasawa started learning modern ballet and she is good at swimming. When she was in Primary 2, she saw a drama, "Hadaka no Taisho" which got her interested in becoming an actress. Subsequently, she took part in the 5th Tobo Cinderella Contest and won the title among 35153 applicants. She was the youngest winner at 12 years old and made her debut in the movie, "Cross Fire". She would shuttle between Shizuoka and Tokyo for work during her Year 1 of junior high but she moved to Tokyo alone in Year 2 and lived in the company's hostel. She entered Horikoshi Senior High in 2003 and became classmates with Suzuki An.
The first movie where she got a leading role was in "Robocon" and her role in 2004's "Sekai no Chuushin de Ai wo Sakebu" brought about the winning of many titles at various movie awards. It seemed like her determination to shave off her hair for the role earned her the recognition for the amount of effort she had put in.
At the moment, Nagasawa has 8 CM deals and there's a Masami Club formed by Takahashi Katsumi who is working with her in the Epson CM. Apparently, many ojisan artistes like Tamori are members of the Masami Club. Besides that, Nagasawa has also won the title of the most desired daughter among middle-aged and elderly men.
