This is a fairly recent dorama that aired on the third,so I am not sure if many people have watched.
Being the WWII History buff that I am,the moment I saw the torrent on Drama Addicts I started downloading the movie.Because my internet connection is so slow I only managed to watch it today.
I admit it was very difficult because my Japanese language skills leave much to be desired(what can I expect,I only started taching it myself some 6 months ago...if only I had a teacher!! Bang Head) but I think I got the jist of it.
The ending was, however, quite perplexing:They eventually decided to use their foreknowledge to save as many people as they can from the March Tokyo Bombing raids...and fail. They had computers and probably knew how an atomic bomb worked(they even had a book on the military operations going on..they could)so,if they wanted to save as many people as they could, why not let those in the Army reverse engineer the computer and perfect their own Nulcear programme? They slipped into the 19th year of Showa,so they had a full year before the war was over. The allies would still be struggling to defeat Hitler,so they had plenty of time.Okay, they didn't do that...fine and well.
But what really happened after Shinna(sp??) came back?I can understand where he is comming from, but why did he and Nobuko want to flee the house when they had the book? Why did History change? And was present day Tokyo destroyed?Minoru's father asks someone:"͉NłHaHBBBAQBQ牽NłHh@who is unable to reply fully saying only "2000".Was that Tokyo Tower?
The ending credits are also amazing.Everyday life in Japan, the warmongers who hate Japan and finnaly Junichiro Koizumi-Sama....great!

How about posting your thread title in English/Romanji? Sweat

If this is a drama, shouldn't it be in the Japanese Drama forum? Head Scratch

While this is technically a Dorama,it's too short to be considered one. This is a 2 hour one shot feature based on a novel. The story is self contained and not episodic so I think I posted in the right forum
As for the thread title being in Japanese,I can change that but the romaji is mentioned somewhere on my post.

True, but to be considerate to the majority of members who can't read Japanese, the title should be in English or at least Romaji. Smile
