Don't get upset. Ask slashersam, we're not even upset at the fact that our country doesn't get anything Erika Sawajiri related. She's unknown here, except maybe a few fans like us..

Yeah. Japanese show business here ain't that big compared to our neighboring countries. Korean showbiz are currently dominating here, which honestly, I don't give a crap of. We get a few Japanese shows and dramas, but I don't watch em because, as far as I know, its different than the original ones. They change everything about it, they dub it locally, change the theme song, etc., couple that with the censorship issues here and its basically crap (At least, for me. No offence to anyone who likes it).
The one thing that's really important to me when I watch these dramas or any foreign series/movies in particular is the original voices. I might not understand it, but there's nothing more suitable than the actors'/actresses' original voices. You can't capture the same emotions if you dub the voices differently. I'd prefer any series/movies with english subtitles than any dubbed ones, anyday.
Sad but true, we can only dream about this in our country. It's not going to happen (at least for sometime). If we ever get any new foreign series, they're still going to dub it. Majority of the people here can't read english or they'd rather prefer to dub it, and as we all know, majority wins.
I can only dream, watching Erika-san in local television with complete original voices and english subtitles.
also if you like her.. you should download and watch Ruri no Shima she's the lead actress in this drama... she's underrated, but talented young actress... _________________

Welcome to the thread! First of all, I'm afraid I can't help you with the press conference vid. I only saw the pics, I have yet to see a vid for the conference though.
About the other one, as KJ-FOX have stated, recent news tells us that she's focusing more on movies than television. Although there's still no confirmed projects for both, except a still-untitled radio program that FOX mentioned. Hopefully, the next time he shows up, he can confirm those.
Anyway, welcome to the thread, and keep track of the posts here to get updated.

Oh, such a pity, because I like TV-dramas more than movies.
But if that's what she want to do, it's okay, I'll also watch the movies ^^
But I hope, she'll be in J-Doramas again ^-^
Ah and I also want to say welcome to those who are new to this thread (but I'm also still new )
So, I'm going to continue watching Taiyou no Uta, almost finished^^
same here I prefer Erika to be in Jdorama rather then movie.
I want to see more of her! =X and being in Dorama I guess i can see her more as in hours =X compared to movie =X

Yeah, personally, I prefer her on television. Don't worry, we're only on the 1st month of the year, so don't be surprised if a news comes up that she's starring in another drama soon.

Here are the pics from KJ-FOX's post, along with some more info.

Akemashite Omedetou ` A Happy New Year to you, Erika fans !!
Thanks to hydetetsu-san for the video as usual !!!
And I 'm glad ruji remember me !!
Unfortunately, I have not grip her latest news much yet either...
All I knew is the new Radio show that hydetetsu-san already has mentioned,
and her special fan club K(called Sawajiri-Kai) was founded among celebrities such as
Karasawa Toshiaki,Watabe Atsurou, Itoh Hideaki, Ueno Juri,Wakatuki Chinatsu,Nakagawa Shoko and more ...
The members called her the Princess Erika !! LOL
( Bty, Erika's rival Masami's fan club V also was formed as opposed to that recently LOL)
Erika seems to spending holidays with her family now, and her first job of this new year should be the radio program..
While she is negotiating with the movie producer now, the details have not been clarified...
She is looking forward to be active more as a movie actress rather than TV dramas.
On the other hand, Masami said who was used to be mainly the movie appearance
wants to come to TV drama more. Therefore, we will see Masami more on the television this year...
Sorry for not recent ones ...
And about her having a real bad character, we can't be too sure. You can find a lot about this in the earlier posts. I was "heart-broken" when I first saw those scandals and pics about her (like the pic with her, a pack of cigarettes, and beer ). But let's just try to understand that it's a given, japanese girls like to party a lot. Just ignore those rumors about her being a "player" and everything else made by the stupid media.
also if you like her.. you should download and watch Ruri no Shima she's the lead actress in this drama... she's underrated, but talented young actress...
thanx for info
i have see her pic, she really pretty and she still young just 14 years old.
i guest she same age with erika...
i haven't watch ruri no shima,

They do look like they're about the same age, since I think Narumi Riko looks a lot more mature than her actual age. I swear, the first time I saw her in 1 litre, I think she was Aya's older sister.

And they're actual real life age?
Narumi Riko - 14
Erika Sawajiri - 20
erika looks younger than her age
Narumi Riko is so mature~
but both are pretty _________________
