Earlier today it has been reported by several news sites that Sawajiri Erika (24) has been in hiding for several weeks now and that even her mother Lila hasn't been able to get in contact with her. However, now her mother denied to have ever made such a comment and official revealed that her daughter has in fact been hospitalized.
Through her intercom at her apartment in Setagayaku, Tokyo she said to the journalists that the earlier reports have not been correct. "Her physical condition has just been very bad and she had been hospitalized for a short while," she explained Erika's recent lack of media exposure. Last month she already had to cancel a PR-Event due to high fever on a rather short notice.
About her current whereabouts Lila commented, "She's currently staying at a quiet place to recharge her energy." Further it had actually been the fourth time Erika had caught a cold within the last 6 months. "It's understandable that she must be really tired now," her mother added. "The day before yesterday she finally got a bit better and contacted me by phone. If she will be able to return soon? Of course! She can't be blamed for being sick. Wouldn't that be pathetic?" The latest rumor regarding actress Erika Sawajiri comes from the Sports Nippon newspaper, which says that she may be returning to Japan this month, with possible plans for a press conference.
Sports Nippon previously reported that Sawajiri was out of contact with her mother for a few weeks after disappearing in September. Although the details of her situation have remained unverified, it has since then been reported by multiple newspapers that she is currently overseas.
According to Sports Nippon, Sawajiri's mother stated that the actress will be coming back to Japan this month, and she hinted that Sawajiri may hold a press conference upon her return. No other details were given, but a friend interviewed by the newspaper indicated that it is likely Sawajiri will be back in time to celebrate Christmas with her mother.
If Sawajiri does hold a press conference, it is speculated that she will talk about the status of her marriage with multimedia creator Tsuyoshi Takashiro. I don't know but do people over in Japan really care about her anymore? Seems like it's been 2+ years of scandals, dirty gossip, etc, would think she's turned off most of her fan base, even a lot of her die hard ones. _________________
Still hoping for Sawajiri Erika to have a comeback drama or movie
If she did I know a lot of people will fall in love with her again because she's a very good actress.

Erika Sawajiri announces impending divorce, new management agency

Actress Erika Sawajiri (24) held her press conference at the Takano Yuri Beauty Clinic event on Sunday, though she did not take any questions from the press. During the event, she tearfully announced that she and her husband, media creator Tsuyoshi Takashiro (46) have mutually agreed to get a divorce.
According to Sawajiri, the divorce procedures are already in the final stages. There have been rumors since last year that the two would likely split up, though a couple months ago it appeared that they might be getting back together. However, it seems that her meetings with Takashiro were primarily to settle the divorce.
Last March, Sawajiri became the president of the management agency that she and Takashiro had established in Spain, but she revealed that she resigned from that position in December and became the president of a brand new agency that she founded on her own. It is still unknown whether she will be able to continue negotiations with Avex for a management contract in Japan.
Sawajiri stated that she currently has no work scheduled, though she affirmed that she strongly wants to return to acting. However, a commercial contract is in the works, with more details expected to be announced at another press conference on February 28.
