really, i don't understand why the reviews are that bad... most of them gave really average scores... even poor. I like it very much.
To me, it was breath taking. And somehow i felt ths non japanese dorama feeling in it. It feels like a mix of a strong western movies and a touch of hong kong sereies style but with a splendid lead cast -Yutaka did such a marvelous job
- and setting. First time i've seen one like this. Very breathtaking, very serious, very heavy. Takenouchi Yutaka played his character perfectly, an undercover police agent letting himself do such risky job just to take revenge on the person who killed his father, and how he struggles, rushing everything just to kill that person as soon as he can but the his ways of doing things just aren't the way the police act. His lover, played by Choi Ji Woo who i think also did a great job, you really gt the 'korean' feeling from her which is good. The progress of the plot and the whole dorama irself makes you realize how hard and serious the people behind it made this dorama. The scenes where Nishijima and Yuna talked to eachother without knowing what each other's saying was so sweet. Their love life is so complicated. this dorama an addictive factor, each episode reveals it's own surprises making you wanting to watch the next episode right away waiting what part of the story will unfold in the next episode.
The music was excellent ! The pace was nice too. And like some reviews say it is a bit, but only a bit predictable and when it nearly got to the end there's a part that was a bit of a let down. The fact that a lot of people wrote it as
predictable, there something i need to clarify. The predictable in it is not like where you can predict the whole thing from start til end but more of a predictable where you see the first 30 minutes, you can guess what's gonna happen for the next 15 minutes. To me, the plot
progress was not pradictable at all!!! it's really worth watching, the theme erases boredom, first time i've seen such dorama. Great theme songs! Ayaka's I Believe was just perfect. nice soundtrack, and splendid acting by Takenouchi Yutaka, Cho Ji Wo, and the guy who played Isaki-san.
It's not a masterpiece, but it's definitely higher than average! I've never seen such thrilling and breathtaking dorama before...
8.5/10
Funny, the reasons why i watched is the theme itself, Yutaka, and some friends at campus who are definitely fangirls. They say this dorama is so boring but it was actually their own fault intending to watch something just to drool over Mocomichi
. But it turns out i enjoyed it so much.
i like it very much. it's unlike any dorama i've ever seen. this is very breathtaking! haven't seen one like this since in a while... But the score i gave really depends on taste. Like a couple o my friends who don't like the theme ended up not liking the dorama at all.
So in the end, it does depend on taste, whether you like the theme or not, it has no fruityboys nor kawai idols so it's not the fanboy/fangirl usual. So for those going to watch this just for Mocomichi i'm giving you an advanced warning, he doesn't appear often!
So rather than getting pissed just b/c Mocomichi got a tiny role, and then says that this dorama is boring just b/c the theme is dark... don't watch it in the first place. It's not like you
have to see it just b/c your fave fruityboy is in it anyway. so
please don't write such reviews and make other people don't want to watch it...
until now i find Kirira Ililah's reviews most accurate, they suit me the best. you rock dude!
Honestly, in my opinion, the reason why people don't put this in their fave doramas of '06 or why this dorama (as far as i know) did not get any awards, is either because of the ending (which was only one episode anyway
), because of the fact that the theme was not in the mainstream for viewers nor awards, or beacuse of the whole half-korean thing. Antipathy... a bit unfair ha?
But i agree if someone doesn't like this b/c of the whole half-korean thing. But not just simply b/c it's korean. But b/c the korean plot that they used was the daymn usual cliche korean dorama plots that will annoy you like hell:
