Not really just Erika news....
...but some news about season 2 of Boss that's about to start up.

�gBOSS�h is a drama that focuses on Amami as the head detective in her investigative department, working with and managing her underlings Tamayama Tetsuji, Toda Erika, and others in their quest to fight terrible crimes. The first season of the series began in April of 2009 and had an average viewership of 17.0%, drawing in a spectacular 20.7% for its finale.
The second season will feature Narumi Riko, Shaku Yumiko, Oomori Nao, Hasegawa Kyoko, and Nishida Toshiyuki, in addition to the already brilliant cast of Amami Yuki, Tamayama Tetsuji, Toda Erika, Takenouchi Yutaka, Mizobata Junpei, Kichise Michiko, Nukumizu Yoichi and Kendo Kobayashi.
Attendees of the fan event on the 8th and 9th were able to consecutively watch all eleven episodes of the first season. Tamayama and Nukumizu made appearances on the 8th when everyone in attendance wished Tamayama, who had turned 31 on the 7th, a happy birthday.
Season two of �gBOSS�h begins Thursday, April 14th at 10 PM JST, and the season premiere will be an extended episode fifteen minutes longer than usual. _________________

Toda Erika joins Ichihara Hayato in �gDOG x POLICE�h

Actress Toda Erika has been chosen as the female lead in the movie �gDOG x POLICE,�h joining starring actor Ichihara Hayato. Like Ichihara, she will play the role of a �ghandler,�h or one who trains police dogs.
The movie, announced in February, has Ichihara playing a policeman in a special division that deals with major crimes and disaster relief missions, which includes a unit of dogs trained for tasks such as rescue. In fact, five actual police dogs that were being used in filming are currently carrying out their lifesaving duties in the earthquake-affected areas in northeastern Japan.
On the day of the big earthquake, Ichihara was filming in Saitama with Tokito Saburo and other cast members. No one was hurt, but their location became unusable, forcing the crew to halt filming for close to two weeks.
Toda will play Mizuno Natsuki, a colleague of the main character Hayakawa Yusaku (Ichihara). At first, the two are at odds with each other due to their differing viewpoints about work, but they gradually come to understand each other as work partners.
�gDOG x POLICE�h is scheduled to open in theaters on October 1, 2011.

She is one busy woman, Taisetsu just finished, Boss 2 is starting this week and Hankyu is also coming out this week.

Actress Toda Erika is going to team up with police dogs for a new movie called �gDOG x POLICE�g, starring actor Ichihara Hayato.
The movie is going to focus on police dogs and their trainers as they have to hunt down a serial bomber. Police dogs are used to detect dangerous substances, oppress criminals and for rescue operations after calamities such as the Great Tohoku Kanto Earthquake. �gWe want to convey a story about police dogs whose mission it is to save people�fs lives,�h the producer explained.
Toda is going to play a policewoman who is training dogs in order to become versatile police dogs. Those people are also known as dog handlers.
Prior to the filming Toda had to go through some thorough training and started to fall in love with the amazing police dogs. She commented, �gI knew that they are really helpful when it comes to detecting things like drugs or rescue operations in destroyed areas, but thanks to the training I learned that those dogs are actually also able to prevent crimes.�h
Five of the dogs that participated in the filming were dispatched to North-East Japan after the great earthquake that struck the country on March 11th. Just thinking about the fact the dogs she worked with during the filming are now saving lives caused Toda to put even more effort into this movie. She said, �gI want to convey – No, it feels like it�fs my duty now to convey the great effort and the passion of police dogs and their handlers and all the troubles they have to deal with every day. This is what I can do right now. This is how I�fm feeling about this movie now.�h _________________
