I am starting to get into Japanese doramas from generations' past with so many getting DVD releases recently. Two in particular intrest me but I don't know the name of them:

1. Bowling Club???: As I posted on another thread, I'm a big fan of this old 60's show but have no idea what it's real name is. It is about a high school girl who is on the bowling club and her trials and tribulations as a bowler and a track athlete at school.

2. This show from the 60's but ran through into the 90's about this guy who always wears the same fedora and jacket over his shoulders. The cover always shows him and a seperate shot of the girl who plays his sister. (This show is still MASSIVE in Asakusa...) Does anyone know what show I'm talking about? I saw a couple of episodes from the 70's, (the main character's nightmare about being abducted by aliens only to be awaken by Pink Lady's UFO!)

If anyone has any idea what these shows' names are, please let me know. Any help is greatly appreciated!

This part sounds a lot like the Tora-san series of movies, a/k/a "Otoko wa tsurai yo". I didn't know it was a TV drama, but the movies were immensely popular.

Actually someone just told me that yes, that was Tora-san I was wondering about. I thought those were either a bunch of compressed tv episodes, (no intro or ending themes until the end of the tape,) or tv movies. Thanks though!

I'm still wondering about that bowling show because I would love to get the series subbed.
