Tomoyasu Hotei to release "Fist of the North Star" single

Guitarist Tomoyasu Hotei will release a new CD single titled "STILL ALIVE" on August 4. This is his first non-collaboration single under his own name since "LIBERTY WINGS" in 2005.

The title track "STILL ALIVE" will be used as the theme song for "Fist of the North Star 201X," a new project associated with the popular "Fist of the North Star" manga series. The single's B-side will be an instrumental guitar cover of Crystal King's "Ai wo Torimodose!!," which was used as the first theme song of the "Fist of the North Star" anime series in 1984. In addition, the single's CD jacket will feature an original illustration by "Fist of the North Star" mangaka Tetsuo Hara.

Although the single will go on sale in August, the "STILL ALIVE" song was released as a chaku-uta this week.

SYNC MUSIC JAPAN, launched by the Council of Music Associations Japan (Composed of Japan Association of Music Enterprises, Music Publishers Association of Japan, and the Federation of Music Producers Japan) is broadcasting Tomoyasu Hotei's live stage of Fukkatsusai (Revival Festival) on Friday July 9th at 7:30PM (Japan time). This performance will be held at Zepp Tokyo in full cooperation with MySpace.

Since BATTLE WITHOUT HONOR OR HUMANITY, the theme song of the movie 'KILL BILL' directed by film director Quentin Tarantino in 2003, Tomoyasu Hotei has gained much global recognition. This will be a valuable chance to get a glimpse of his live performance online.
