Hhaha, the funny part is that quote just doesn't fit at all.
DIFFERENT? what makes the picture so interesting is how much in common yamapi and maki have in common (don't get me wrong I'm a major fan of both) but if there some people that have similarities in that picture are those two.
The quote has 2 meanings....I mean,It's talking about 2 things...
First is the color....if you would notice,Maki is holding a white color cloth while Yamapi wears a black cloth...it does make sense to have a "different"theme right!?That's why I use the word "THINGS" not person so that it could be more general.
Then the second meaning defines Yamapi and Maki's character in real life.
It's very common for a quote to have literal and not literal meaning.

or you just edit this picture????
Hahaha, they photoshoped (or edit as you said) for sure.
You can tell in the future when a photo has been photoshoped no matter how likely or unlikely it seems by looking at the outlines. Unless skilled and with some time in their hand most people tend to screw up the outline. I've used photoshop since the early versions and still unless I'm careful I screw up the outlines when dealing with real objects such as people.
In this picture you can see for example:

GOOD observation! Actually,I was planning to change that but due to my laziness...I didn't intend to to do so.
But you forgot to notice Maki's hand....Maki's hands were blurred... Anotherthing that I need to change but I didn't because I feel lazy.

Heheh, no problem, I wasn't trying to rip/chop you up (find fault) in your work (which I noticed now it could have sounded a bit harsh when I definitely didn't intend it to be that way ^_^).
As for the blurred hand, heheh trust me I noticed (however, if I was to find every single fault and go to the micro/pixel levels I would have dozens of red arrows pointing everywhere lol).
On another note, How did that blurred hand thing happened in the first place? Did it occur when removing it from another picture? Cause I swear it looks like someone passed the blur/smudge tool over it. Were you using the magnetic lasso tool for this? (cause if you are, by tweaking around with the settings you can get it to work great even if that tool is a bit clumsy at times) Lastly, if you take the whole layer (meaning maki by herself or yamapi etc.) and feather the outlines by a few points you can achieve an non pixelate look
Getting back to Maki (and to please the moderators by making a constructive post).
I'm working on a blog (don't worry it won't be cluttered like most blogs and will have a navigation as well) for Maki
I already have the layout, template, and overall coding done and currently working on the posting itself. I plan to put up every single picture out there on the blog. While once could always go back to the start of this thread, many of you will see and agree that 1/2 of the pictures ever posted disapear due to hosting, linking, etc.
If someone wants to help me out with a few things feel free to contact me via AIM or PM. If you have all the photo books that would also help as I haven't been able to get all of them (Just have her first one, castella, and kotonoha kirari). I also have to divide my post cause I don't want to make 20 posts or so in one day and then have someone sit there waiting for 100's of pictures to load in the main page lol.

yeah it should, in fact if you have windows xp or higher it extracts most compression types and files without even having to download stuff. _________________

Actually I'm trying to make Maki's picture blend with the background...
So I tried to make the edges smooth by blurring....BUt it seems like I blur too much part in Maki's hand and I just have notice it after many works that I have done in the picture...so I can't undo it anymore...Even If It's possible, how about my other works?...it will also be gone and I have to repeat again...,so I try not to undo.
I can't use the history brush because my main page was Yamapi's picture...so If I ever use it...Maki's body will be erased...not just the blur thing....see what happened in Maki's breast...I accidentally run history brush there that's why....Maki's breast was somekinda erased.

Have you tried doing a mask, and then feathering the outline? (by feathering you can blur without worrying about doing it freehand and ending up with what happened to you with maki's finger)
Now you also referred to "undo", I think is very important to do so as you do work on a picture cause then you will end up exactly with this type of problem (where the history might be flooded with previous actions and you can't get back to where the error occured). Also once a major blur/smudge has occurred, is not going to be easy to fix it by hand, and not using undo is just slowing yourself down.
In conclusion there are MANY ways to do what you trying to accomplish.
They range from super easy to more complicated.
1)Magnetic Lasso (easiest way ever to cut someone out, but doesn't take alpha channels into account, plus around the hair it can be quite sloppy)
2)Quick Mask (pretty straight forward approach)
3)Layer Mask (takes more freehand work, but can always be undo whenever a mistake is made and return previous background in a flash)
4)Extract Filter (quick way and very effective, beats erasing background hehe) Is probably my favorite way.
Here is an example (keep in mind I hardly ever mess with people/objects in photoshop as I draw/design things mostly myself).
ORIGINAL
Note: Picked this picture because is a very complex background which is hell to remove and also the hair on the right is impossible to select with lasso tool. (also cause it was one of the first pictures I found on my hardrive and is one of favorites lol) If the original was to have a white background, it would have been cake, cause the contrast is amazing.
AFTER
Note: Picked this background cause is an HDR picture (if something looks real on top of this, it deserves a clap, everything in HDR looks surrealistic lol)
Save and expand (damn imageshack shrinkage lol)
Anyways, this was a quick 5 minute demonstration of what I was talking about. (obviously if one works with lighting etc. one can make her appear to actually be part of that picture as if somehow she was there when it was taken. Then again thats impossible cause her right hand as you may notice was never part of the original picture lol)
Edit: Forgot to mention that if you're always removing people and objects and placing them in different backgrounds etc. you could try buying some "image isolation software" which are made only for this one purpose and they do it very well. I would love to recommend one but since I hardly ever mess with this type of work I don't know which is the best right now. Try doing some google search, you bound to find something good.
Now back to our regular programing. _________________
