she looks more feminine cuz they had her dressing like a guy for so long.
Well, that may be true, but it's almost like she has a whole different look to her now compared to when she had long hair. Is the word I am searching for "sexy"?

I think while Maki looks good with any length of hair, with short hair, it really emphasized her eyes and cheekbones, and gave her that 'striking/alluring' look that wasn't played up as much when she had long hair. Sexy is definitely a word for it.

I feel like I've posted this in a million places, so one more can't hurt - Matsuda Shota's been cast in the role of Maki's husband for her NHK drama Atsuhime. It's a great opportunity for Maki, as she gets to work with all those veteran actors and a lot of the cream of the crop "Young Japan" actors as well.

Her hair in the previous pix (the one with the black dress) I really like, this on the other hand... Weird cause it looks almost the same. _________________

no prob...it's a picture from the press conference for her new drama atsuhime (sp?)
Actually Atsuhime is going to be the 2008 NHK Taiga drama. Maki won't be the lead but will have a pretty important part, which is okay with me cause then she will have more time for other projects. I've seen the picture with a lot of the cast, where did you find this one from?

Could you please explain what a BDFG is? I haven't seen a Taiga drama before so I guess I could be one of those people, but I am not freaking out about the ShotaxMaki pairing. I do know that a Taiga is a period drama, not set in present day and not similar to the "idol" dramas we see today. I've seen my share of Kurosawa films and other samurai films from the 50's/60's so I know that Atsuhime won't be filled with "hijinx" and the like. Just to clarify, I was amazed at her beauty zOmg!!11!
