THIS IS BRILLIANT. JUST EXCELLENT. Oh GOD I thought it was just a rumour but holy hell, I saw the freaking CAST LIST in the Nekozawa lj comm.
Haruhi - Horikita Maki (Nobuta in Nobuta wo Produce)
Tamaki - Yamamoto Yusuke (Was in Kamen Rider Kabuto)
Kyouya - Mizushima Hiro (He IS Kamen Rider Kabuto)
Hikaru - Izaki Yusuke (The jap band Flame)
Kaoru - Izaki Hisato (The jap band FLAME. They�fre real twins.)
Honey - Kamiki Ryunosuke (Q in Dan Dective School Live Action)
Mori - Daito Shunsuke (Tani-The unfortunate fella that got beaten up in nobuta)
Renge - Nakagawa Shoko (Dunno who she is .. but she�fs the too-sweetie-pie-cutesy type. XD)

I was pretty sure that the Ouran Host Club rumor turned out to be Hana Kimi instead. And that cast list has many similar cast members as Hana Kimi so that's why I am questioning its validity.

Precisely. The Ouran live-action has never been confirmed and the cast were made up by fans.

never watched Ouran Host Club yet but they say it's pretty good!! been reading lots of rumors regarding a live-action to be made.. i actually saw one in maki's baidu bar..don't know if it's true.. _________________

the Ouran rumor is old, and as much as I loved the manga/anime, I think another l.a. manga adaptation would only stall Maki's career prospects . I like that she's an idol (and has the popularity to match) but she does character actress type of roles, low profile quirky kind of projects and really, the actresses that stick around after a while are the ones with the most range. You can have a pretty face and do a killing off CMs and modeling, but it's better to have a reputation for actual talent than just being beautiful. And beauty can be subjective and ever-changing, so what's considered attractive now may not be in the near future (and honestly, some of those polls floating out there - the Oricons and the Nikkei sports. It's all very WTF, Japan when I look at some of the rankings. But then again, opinions, everyone's got one.). It's tough out there for female talents.
Personally, I'd like to see her do a slice of life renzoku, or maybe a dark thriller type of drama. Or work with Shunji Iwai.
^^Agreed. She definitely still needs to get plenty of more roles under her belt. And I would also really like to see her in a human drama or a dark thriller as you said

She has a dorama, called Keitai deka - zenigata Mai. As far as I know, she plays Mai, a teenage girl, who helps out the police, maybe an agent? Someone fill me in. I only saw the Keitai deka movie, where 3 agents (all of them are girls at the age of 16-17) solve cases. I wanted to watch the dorama too, but never found it
They all have a red mobile phone, where they get the cases. As keitai means mobile, they are mobile agents I think everyone knows the video about Maki dancing now, that video is from the movie she helps another agent, when she has to dance different kind of dances
