See, sometimes it's ok to trust my posts. I only put the tmz link cause that's what my local news were quoting even though the LA Times were also one of the first sources to confirm it.

Most assuredly the media will be sympathetic out of respect... His idiosyncrasies have definitely cast a dark cloud over an otherwise phenomenal career... It's up to each individual to determine how bad or good a person he was overall.

Sadly, we might be losing another soon. According to UPI, CBS is in the process of updating its obituary for Walter Cronkite, who's not expected to last much longer. An icon across several generations.
MJ's death hits hard... seems like I've been listening to his (and the Jackson Five's) music almost my entire life. He was only a year older than me, which brings the reality of my own mortality a little closer.
Farrah's passing is so sad after she fought so hard against the cancer. I have a lot admiration for her courage in allowing others to see what it's like to fight it.
A sad day indeed.

I was completely shocked about Michael Jackson. His career was amazing and I respect him for what he gave to the world. We'll never experience a person like him again. |
Definitely shocked too. Though, you might have missed a big chunk of the boat with Michael too (you're still so young!). Him on Jackson 5 and early 80s was the best. I felt he was already on the decline by the late 80s, but just IMO.
In general, I wasn't much of a fan of that sorta popish/dance music, but such an icon couldn't really be ignored.

I would agree with that... Don't know whether it was his tremendous stardom or something else that led to his downward spiral.

His troubled childhood played a part Im sure in that spiral later on.
What a talent though.
And poor Farrah. Her life it seems was not such a happy one.
I dont think any of us who were around when Cahrlies Angels was origianlly broadcast will ever forget her poster. _________________

I think I still have it rolled up in my closet somewhere, along with my Go-Go's and Police posters...

good old times.
Farah was a stunner, and she had class as opposed to those followed in Posterworld (Pamela Anderson and the likes).
MJ was just crazy, but a genius - hope his children will be able to grow up happily.

No you're right, but it was still prominent in my life. My dad had the thriller album going all the time, and the video for the song was the first to ever give me nightmares. _________________

So was your dad moonwalking throughout the house when it was playing?
