I'm the oddball here. I truly enjoy the ability to text so many of my friends on my space and thus maintain a pleasant contact with them..... it's part of my regression into teenagerhood. Yippeee...

I only recently joined Facebook because of a friend too. She sent me an invite, and it's the only place on the internet I know she's on.
I don't much like it, though...I think I'll probably not bother with it for long if my friend doesn't seem very active on there.

Facebook is a pain, with all the additional applications that people are developing... I kept getting invitations to install all this stuff and it's all annoying.

Gosh yes! It's quite annoying.. I didn't add the applications but even so, people kept sending them and I had to keep ignoring them, so in the end I said sayonara to facebook. They're cunning and annoying though.. They wanted a reason for me not wanting to have facebook anymore. You had to pick a reason like an MCQ and then they always had an answer for every option to make you stay. In the end I just chose "other" and wrote: because you suck. They wouldn't let me go until I actually wrote something. And even then they said that I could reactivate just by logging in...

It's like a weed or gum on your shoe that you can't get rid of.

Same here - I am on Facebook to keep in touch with my MBA network - that�Ls all.

I read this user comment on an article discussing social media networking:

"I started a Facebook account. All my old friends started contacting me. They have all become Scientolog­ists. Oh Joy.

So I don't have a Facebook account anymore."
