It's the "Making Of" Promo DVD.

Quote:

The hugely popular josei manga and anime series, Honey and Clover (a.k.a. Hachimitsu to Kuroubaa) has now been adapted into a full-length live action feature film starring Sakurai Sho (Engisha), Iseya Yusuke (Casshern) and Aoi Yu (Henshin). The story follows three young guys who live together whilst studying at art college. Money is tight but they find other ways to amuse themselves, especially after they are introduced to their professor's niece - Hagumi. Two of the boys fall instantly in love with her, while the other, Mayama, is off chasing an older woman. Little does he know, but their friend - the good looking and popular Ayumi is secretly in love with him.
This special introductory, behind the scenes DVD is crammed full of facts, features and mouth-watering information and tidbits to keep fans' anticipation running at fever pitch. Including on location footage, interviews, character monologues, the cast's own video diaries - and much more besides - should be more than enough to wet your appetite.

i just finished watching... i thought it was rather.. meh. It's missing the edge of the anime series. Little humor as well, Morita was miscast IMO...

done with Honey & Clover

first of all for those who've seen the anime, don't even bother watching this. Your head will probably be already filled with all those high expectations from the smooth, funny, and cheerful anime... and all you'll get is disapointment

if you like any of the casts Beaten or at least know any of em, it's still possible to finish it. Don't watch it with anyone that isn't keen on japanese stuff coz they'll probably fall asleep after 20 minutes

The setting and pictures were beautiful. The casts gave this sort of feeling but the characteristics weren't strong at all. Skin deep plot, slow pace, very slow story progress. It really is just a so-so movie. yeah, i agree with kevin and thtl... it was okay to me too

the music was nice imo

did everybody go ... through the whole show like i did? luckily didn't fall asleep

7/10 for me

i think you're bring generous w/ a 7.. i'd give a 5 or a 6... i have pretty high standards, so those that understand how i rate movies will appreciate the rating more.

on a side note.. Megumi Seki (Yamada) is rather cute here.. and you may know her from Arch Angels, which unknowing, just watched before this.

I felt asleep half way.

the most disappointment is Morita, the anime-morita is 1000 times better. And if I don't know anything about Japan, I would say Japan is a third world country after watch this movie.

but Hagu is kinda cute

rofl yeah... i'm generous with jmovies, and probably everything. I got the insert songs album before the movie and i liked it very much, brill composer. and also i haven't really watched the anime (only the first episode) so i didn't expect too much. Stuffs like Hagu isn't as small and not blonde doesn't bother me. i dunno how to put this but Morita's char was too frieky... the feeling that i got from the anime is that he's... naughty?

xixixi i don't like any of the casts in it Beaten except for Sakurai Sho Beaten and the girl that looks like a skinny version of Ayumi Hamasaki imo. so i guess she's Megumi Seki? she look pretty cute

I'm with you there. In fact Seki Megumi played the role of the arch-enemy in "Ganbatte Ikkimashou". She was quite a bitch there so Yamada was a refreshing role for her. I think she looked a lot nicer with that long hair.

i haven't gotten around to watching GI yet, and the recent reviews aren't moving it up the 'to watch' pile. Sweat

I liked it. I thought the cast was done well and the music/landscape was pretty too. Smile Oh well, guess I'm in the minority here. I probably was the only one who didn't watch the anime first, though, so it was probably much better. Smile
