Let's put it this way: I graduated college and was working full-time as a dweeb before Juri-chan was born.
At least I'm not gawking at prepubescent teen girls prancing around on a stage while lip-synching to J-pop music.
haha! As if that was so terrible (stops lip synching...). I'm actually suprisingly tame when it comes to such things - never been a very good fanboy.
I think the last time I had any kind of celebrity crush was on Scarlett Johannsen after seeing Lost in Translation. And before that.. when I saw Drew Barrymore in Ever After. Two of my favorite roles

In actuality, I've only been caught in Juri-chan's gravitational field since January 2007... The previous four years, I was solely dedicated to Yonekura Ryoko.
Just when you think someone/something can't be topped... She/he/it appears.

That's still a pretty hefty commitment! So I have to ask.. what draws you so strongly to Jdrama stars? I mean, is it just a hobby or are you truly so devoted? It sounds like you really get involved!
What was Ryoko in? I've not heard of her (or him, I suppose)..

I'm Japan-centric, basically.
Except for cars.

I first saw her ( ) in a NHK Taiga drama: Musashi.

And the rest is history.
Hehe.. I actually just looked up a picture of her.. she's quite the looker too. But very different that our Juri, to be sure.
So German cars then? Or just BMWs?
I got into anime from a high school friend who was a huge fan (he has like 1000s of DVDs...). Me and some other friends watched Neon Genesis, GTO, Escaflowne and Cowboy Bebop with him back in the day. I didn't see any of the dramas until GTO (the woman in that is a favorite too) and actually Nodame Cantabile was my second one.
So are you into dating Japanese chicks too? (Or I supposed married to..) My friends claim I have a little bit of the asian-fever thing... but I like to think that my tastes are more diverse! I dated a chinese girl when I was in law school for like two years and a few others.. but I tend to run the gamut.

Of course, since junior high...
Oddly, my ex was Chinese... I suppose that was the problem.
Haha.. I think you were biased against her for that reason ;-)
So what turned to Juri first? How did she steal your interest? I think she works for me because she feels so genuine as Nodame, so naive, so troubled. It's almost like I wanna be more helpful and understanding... She's so sad and vulnerable. And I love the trademark behaviors and quirks. They are so sexy to me!
I was thinking about something you wrote last night... I think that perfect people are boring. To me, love is often exemplified by the willful acceptance and enjoyment of the imperfections in addition to the strengths of another. Reveling in truth rather than image. I almost always prefer women who don't wear a lot of makeup, perfume, and who don't have tattoos (in reference to your other post last night).
I think I would feel the same way about the actress too - I'm a person who likes to see people grow out of their troubles by understanding them. I am always willing to spend positively silly amounts of time trying to understand them. She would be interesting to meet. Again, while I have no real proof (other than the limited clips I've seen and my own experience) I suspect that she's actually a very ordinary personality. I will contend she's likely more intelligent than average. Beyond that, I can't say
I'm an Audi fan, personally. And I'm saddened by BMWs recent design trends. I really enjoyed and preferred the M3 shown in your signature photo (and that model 3 series all around) to anything BMW's made since. Porsche all the way though - I dream of my beautiful blue Cayman S! Maybe an burgundy S5 for good measure.

Sorta the same for me... The contradictory mix of seriousness and unabashed kookiness...

That's Juri-chan in the nutshell, I believe: simple, down-to-Earth, freckled, winsome...

Ack, the front ends of Audi are downright ghastly... Like the maw of a whale shark.
Yeah, I'm not particularly thrilled with Chris Bangle's "flame-surfacing" designs in the current BMWs or the God-awful iDrive system.
I've driven five 3-series (that's anotehr story) over the past 20 years, but I doubt I'll buy a sixth... I'll need to check out the 1-series when it hits the showrooms in April...

Ahh yes.. the freckles. I forgot to mention that before - I'm a huge freckles fan myself and there's that one pic of her in the white top with freckles. Now that's cute.

Ah, I agree. For some reason, I like the makeup-less look of alot of women as well. Sometimes, the less cosmetics, the better IMO.
Hehe... yeah, it's Matsushima Nanako I meant - I'm not so good with Japanese names, to be honest. I have enough trouble with English names(not really). Yeah... same goes for Ryoko (could be a guy, could be a girl, could be a name for a popular seafood dish, could be a type of massage). I try my best, really... ;-)
