Actress Juri Ueno will make her "singing debut" with the release of the single "Onara Taisou." The song became popular last fall after it appeared in the "Nodame Cantabile" drama series, sung by her character Megumi Noda. After many fan requests for a CD release, the date has finally been set for May 23.
Recording took place at the end of February. It includes a previously unheard verse of the song. The single will also be coupled with two songs from the anime series: "Koi no G-Cup" and "Puri Gorota's Theme (Puri Gorota March)." Both songs can be heard in the April 19 episode of the show.
"Onara Taisou" will be made available on the Internet starting on April 20 through the Recochoku site.
Ueno is also appearing in a new commercial for NEC computers, along with Taro Yamamoto and "Nodame" co-star Hiroshi Tamaki. The commercial begins airing on the 18th.

Just finished watching Kagayaku Onna (by that I mean I fastforwarded thru the parts I didn't understand)...I'm impressed by genuineness of Juri-chan...she could've gone to all of the tourist hotspots or just stayed in London, but she opted to stay four days on a working English farm..what a unique experience for her...she slopped the pigs, herded and fed the cows, and got into the daily life of the family she was staying with...walking the kids to school, visiting the local pub (drinking the Red Martini and playing bingo),learning the local folk dance...As Mr. Jones(the head of the family) said, she wasn't afraid to jump in and get her hands dirty...
This was a wonderful insight into the character of this young lady... _________________

Didn't I say this was a fascinating travelogue?
After watching this several times (especially the "Hazukashii..!" scene) you can't help but be impressed by Juri-chan... She's incredible.
