Is this normally a slow drama period or is it because all the good actresses are on vacation? 2 shows with AV actresses... At least it's getting warmer, more stuff to do outside instead of watching TV. Bored

Maybe they ran out of ideas and they're just using fresh faces with the same old crap. Anyone wants to watch a school drama about a super teacher starring the new boy band with the "I don't give a shit about anything, except my cool hairstyle" look?

trying to follow the footsteps of GTO, is a very difficult task, and to do it successfully...
gokusen1 was good, the 2nd...i haven't really watched it yet...

the storyline of Dragonzakura, i thought was ok...but i love the girls in that one..what can i say...esp. Masami. Smitten
but it sorta did drag on....

you do have to say that Gal Circle is anything but boring, and the storyline is interesting....whether it lacks the depth, and the girls are just their for eye-candy, but it's defintely different. and the week#3 rating was higher at 16%.

well, i only watched a few eps, and i really couldn't give a fair assessment until i watched most or all of the series, sub'd in english, but atleast from what i can see, it is definitely not boring to watch, plus the fact, i find it humorous and unreal in some scenes. it helps that they have some cute hotties in that, and if Emi gained 30 pounds or so, she would be damn hotter. But for what it is worth, i am d/l'ing and watching, plus i really like Yui Aragaki, she's hot.

but i can see where it would lack depth, in comparison to GTO, but then again it is not fair since i am comparing it to one of the top j-dramas, atleast in my opinion.

you seem to enjoy this dorama very much...that's all good. i expressed my opinon regarding it's incredibly weak composition.....to each his/her own as they say...i think it's lackuster compared to MOST doramas not just GTO..that might be an unfair comparison given it's exceptional popularity.

as i stated before...i think it's definitely a step down for the young erika toda...she seems to be pandering to a ridiculous notion of what's cool....unfortunate...definitely in the vein of a kyoko fukada...and we all know her plummeting popularity vis-a-vis other young women such as satomi ishihara and the like....

some of these young actresses have so much potential, and for one Masami Nagasawa, and Erika Sawajiri, .......i really think the roles that they take on, and how they project them out and the sucess of the j-drama will dictate were their careers will be revealed...

Erika Toda is a rising bright star, but yeah, perhaps her fit in this j-drama is not consistant, as this storyline. I only watched some of k-fukada, and from what i seen, her movies-j-dramas are not deep indepth roles.

right on...ppl are free to disagree with me...but i hope to see more substantive performances...in the future hopefully...it's difficult to be too harsh on an actress that is too young..it's perhaps not fair...and i acknowledge that.

People people, it pains me to see that some consider Engine as "good" cuz it's a blantant rip-off of Disney's Cool Runnings with the story of the orphanage append to it.

It's a light moralistic comedy with similar theme of GTO & Gokusen. Well at least it tries to be more unique it that the "teacher" isn't a teacher but a cowboy, the teacher in question isn't someone associated with gang & yakuza, and the setting isn't a bunch of unruly kids from class 3-D but a group of wannabes dancers.

Contrary to what The Daily Yomiuri says, I would have to say the screenwriter did a good job with this show. At least the person put some nice touches & thoughts into story. When was the last time you see a dorama turns a turntable into a comedy? Also when Kuma stole a money bag in Gokusen it was just that and no screen time is dedicated to the bag. When the alleged thief in Gal Circle "stole" the money, not only did the story focus on the thief but on also on the crow-shaped bag. The bag now has a history and a face.

Finally can't remember any parables from GTO or Gokusen but I'm sure I will remember this one "Are the police there to protect people or to protect the law" heheee...heee....

yes, good point....Gal Circle did focus in on Yui Aragaki, in that episode and on the crow-shape bagged....
i just think this j-drama is quite creative, and for what it is worth, a cowboy and shibuya teens, with a storyline, it's got my attention, eagar for the next upcoming ep's.

hard to believe that little girl was nanako in Hotman 1 and 2, she's growing up, now at 8yrs.

that was creative, a handgliding little asian-indian girl. lol
