Kimutaku first historical movie
SMAP's Takuya Kimura (32) was announced on the 5th that he will be in the historical play, "Bushi no Ichibun". The director of the movie is Youji Yamada, known from other movies such as "Kakushiken Onino tsume". Don't miss out on the duo, Takuya's first ever historical play and world famous director Yamada.
Director Yamada has had his eye on Takuya since his world debut in the movie "2046", and Takuya also has been wanting to collaborate strongly. The release date of the movie is Fall 2006.
Takuya will play the role of a low ranked samurai Shinnosuke Mimura, who is the taste tester of the feudal lord. But a test goes wrong and loses his job. To support himself and his wife, Kayo, he goes to ask Captain Shimada for help. Shimada asks for Kayo's body for trade, but Shinosuke got nothing back. After realizing he was tricked, he plans for retribution towards Shimada.
The title "Bushi no Ichibun" means, a samurai must give his life to protect honor and dignity.

I love Pride and to me, Takeuchi Yuko have the best chemistry with Takuya ever!!!!! They are really a perfect match! Though, I watch like Good Luck and Engine. He lacks chemistry with those actresses...and always, I think Takeuchi Yuko beauty can be compare with Kimura handsomeness! what do you think
Pride is a very very good dorama....the best for me at least. I love watching it and the theme song is so good! wait, I mean, AWESOME!
andway, misslilfab posted the article on Kimura's new movie...about the wife role. I WANT TAKEUCHI YUKO!

i posted something similar a while back in this thread....it's the same guy who directed tasogare seibei and hidden blade.
i don't think it's going to be matsu takako..she acted in hidden blade..it would be totally whack if she was picked again in this third movie to play a different character.

engine and pride.. like comparing apples and oranges.. the only thing that they have in common is that they're both fruit.. and in this analogy.. kimura is the common factor between the two.
but the premises although similar are entirely different. (premise that he has a greater goal in life.. making it in the NHL, reclaiming his race car driver status) anyway.. in engine.. it focused more on the kids as compared to pride where the cherry on the sundae was aki and halu's relationship..
I can go on and on and probably produce a fairly okay essay/narrative about the pros and cons of each show (as sampled by my analogies earlier) but i choose not to. both shows are a good watch. they do have flaws that's for sure but with kimura at the helm of it all, you won't notice them until after you've shut off the tv.. and go ramble as to how ridiculous scene a, b and c was..
(wahahahahaha.. there i go again with my random rambling for the day)

well i didn't like hero at all...and i really like kimura takuya and matsu takako...but yeah koyuki in engine....it was an odd performance at times...i think she doesn't have as much talent as some of takuya's other female co-stars....i think she did better in kimi wa petto...which i thought was okay but far from great.

i haven't seen engine or pride yet, but i have them saved. I plan on watching them. but so far i really enjoyed Matsu Takako and Kimura Takuya in Love Generation, a '90's classic.
kimi wa petto, another one that i need to d/l.

I liked the rapport that takuya had with the kids in Engine. the pairing of Koyuki was a little off.. but I didn't think it was too bad. I actually just saw Hero, it was pretty good, I liked seein how he gets himself out of those situations episode after episode. haha.
