I remembered watching this show (Tokyo Girls?) many years ago which was aired in Singapore. I only managed to watch a few episodes but I liked it quite alot.

Does anyone knows this show? (I may have got the title wrong!) Any idea whether it is available for sales?

Was it 'Tokyo Elevator Girl' starring Rie Miyazawa?

I'm not too sure as I wasn't that of a JDrama fan at that time. So,"Tokyo Elevator Girl" was ever aired in Singapore? I kind of remember that the drama I was looking for was about 3 girls working in Tokyo trying to get themselves associated with "elite" boyfriends. Is it the right one?

Actually, from wat i remember, Rie worked in this departmental store in Tokyo as an elevator girl. Later, she fell for this photographer, I think..she had to pick between 2 guys, one of them a married man. It was shown in Singapore abt 5-6 years ago. She had this colleague who was having an affair with a married supervisor. Is this show the right one? I liked this show too...

Hi funky_2500

I'm not too sure about that as I have only watched a few episodes and was so long ago. I think it was also about 5-6 years ago that I've seen it on the TV. Anyway, from your brief story line, I think I will like this drama whether it is or not the one that I'm looking for.So, I'll be heading towards the VCD shop to grab & watch it.

Honto ni doomo arigato.

well you know i'm a fan so i'd have to agree with you. interestingly enough that was the first drama i ever watched shortly after i began college, and started taking japanese language classes....rie miyazawa was the queen of the idols at that stitch in time....she was the most highly paid female tarento at the time, too. she was even starring in commercials with the likes of arnold schwarzenegger! well you know the story...

i'm just glad that after her bouts with depression and her eating disorder that she made a meteoric rise back to the top as a serious actress, not just a piece of fluff that was sure to fade.

Yeah, she was definitely at the pinnacle of her career at that time...

I even have some footage of her from Entertainment Tonight when everyone was ga-ga about her photobook Santa Fe....

Hmm, I've never seen this drama before. It might have been shown in NorCal before I began watching Japanese programming.

nah, but if your speaking of the song that plays during the closing credits...i'm pretty sure that song is performed by rie miyazawa, herself.
