it's possible...i know i've seen Japanese products for automobile passengers to wear slippers or something to that effect so as not to dirty the floor mats or floor upholdstery of the car....but the driver? i dunno.....it's possible....i don't want to sound like i know FOR SURE...but it seems unlikely...i know driving without your shoes would be considered illegal here in the US.

how would they enforce the no shoes, no servic... er driving rule?
i've driven barefoot and with socks numerous times... i dont recommend it, but since i have nice studded pedals, im not worried about losing traction.
BUT wearing somethin with a sole would help distribute the force applied to the brake pedal.

i won't dispute the enforcement aspect of the law but doesn't mean it ain't illegal...my b*tch ass recently heard there's a special spray paint you can apply to your license to prevent photo enforced traffic lights from clearly capturing your photo to give you a moving violation...i need that SH*T...and how would they enforce that...do you see a fuggin' lazy ass cop inspecting your license plate?

the spray... info can be found in the classified section of popular mechanics, or road and track (and such mags).

hmmm...i just heard this..and was wondering if its true..do japanese people take off their shoes while driving?
Hi Dai_Ca,
Nice to meet you. I asked your question to my friend Junko in Japan. Here is her answer:
"Some Japanese, yes, take off their shoes but just change their shoes to just drive. They think their car is the same as their home and don't like to get the inside of their car dirty with mud. They have another pair of shoes to drive in, in their car. But most Japanese drive with our usual shoes. LOL!!!"

Hi Terryb,
So do I. I think it is not only safer to drive in flats, but it also saves your heels from getting scraped up. Like my friend Jun said in my earlier post the Japanese want to keep their cars clean so why not change shoes while driving? Makes sense to me.
