Betting pools around the world had Miss Japan as a 21 to 1 odds winner...pretty long...if you'd bet on her, your $1000 would've paid out $21,000...always bet on Japan, kids..always....

LOL, funny thing is, there aren't any pics of her either in the previous page... Beaten hehe

Here you go, pictures of 2006 Japan Miss Universe contestant.
Also the only reason why there were not any pictures of her (or just a few etc) was cause I had no idea this thread even existed till I made my own miss universe thread today and then got locked due to an existing one X_X

20-year-old ballet dancer Mori Riyo is the first Japanese to be named as Miss Universe in 48 years. She was selected from 77 contestants at the annual competition in Mexico on Monday. The runners up were from Brazil and Venezuela. Mori is from Shizuoka Prefecture, where she currently works as a jazz instructor at a dance school run by her mother. She has studied dance since she was four, including time studying ballet in Canada. In an indication that the world has fallen for Asian Beauty - a common theme in Japanese advertising these days - Miss Korea Honey Lee was also chosen among the final five contestants. The win by a Japanese entrant is all the more notable since the runner-up in last year's contest was Naha City native Chibana Kurara (25), who has capitalized on her instant fame and now works as a TV news reporter among other things.

Indeed.
At first I applaud. I thought it was impossible for extreme eastern girls to win that competition. Not only becuase they don't match the judges tastes, but also because they aren't really the most beautiful girls of their own country. (Remember when I sais Aya was more legitimate than a so-elected Miss )
The first pics I saw were these http://fr.news.yahoo.com/photos/070529053445.r2b21pxa-photo-riyo-mori-portant-la-couronne-de-miss-univers-2007.html and http://www.nautiljon.com/people/riyo+mori.html
Well she must have said extremely heartful words during the interview to have won Beaten

Yup.

Nowadays, if someone loses, some people will always cry foul or claim a conspiracy theory... Sweat

So much for losing gracefully. Sweat
