Then we got the obligatory going-around-the-room speeches, closeup shots of every major/minor characters during Beethoven 7th, and then came the crying... It's so unprofessional for a conductor to cry during a performance regardless of the circumstance, but this seems to be the director's style. |
While that may be true for conductors, you have to realize that Chiaki was still a novice conductor for all intents and purposes... And they're all students, not seasoned professionals, and most of all, human beings, so you've gotta cut them some slack regarding their emotions... The scenes may have been melodramatic and/or sentimental, but not a deal breaker by any means... At least that's what I think.

Yes, it's not a big deal by any means and I'm probably being over-critical because I used to play the violin in a high school orchestra. I'm just hoping if they use the same director that he won't turn it into an overly melodramatic affair.

Ahh, the truth comes out...
A reminder of the past like Nodame and Segawa Yuuto?

Haha...fortunately mostly fond memories, but I did get my fair share of reprimand for not practicing enough...

So desu... A la Harisen?
I played the viola in Junior High... Needless to say, that didn't last. It was more to talk to the Japanese girls in the orchestra than to play the instrument.

LOL. Same here. With my dad, it was always this bamboo stick that he brought back with him from the Philippines one year. Kowaii. _________________

Why amused?
Great performances, great music, and a pretty darn good story to boot.
Why some people don't get it is unfathomable.
