Is anyone doing the hardsubs? I can download the raw and srt files, but I'd rather have an all in one thing, right. Mr Green

i think you'll have to wait for S-Projects to finish.. or wait for another group to release it.

Yup. The fansubbers are pretty livid 'bout that.

Though some are doing distro themselves. Head Scratch

For NC I probably would hardsub it just for myself so I can watch it on my DVD player. The only other person in the family I can possibly show the hardsubbed version to (just because she would watch anything I show her) is no one other than my 10 yrs old niece and I'm not sure that she's old enough for the content. (She has strict parents and I figure showing her a drama with a perverted female like Nodame chasing after hot male trying to kiss him might be bad. Bleah Last time I showed Disney's Tarzan her dad thought it was too violent for her. ) Anyways, I won't even bring my hardsubbed copy to showing with friends. I know if I do most likely they would want to make copies out of that and before I know it things probably will spread like wild fire.

Truth is though the subbers are being real careful about it, as long as stuff is uploaded on the net it's really out of their hands. It shouldn't be too bad though since Jdramas aren't too big (though Fuji TV seems to be the only one fussing about it so far). Surely copyright line is crossed but it's not like none other than devoted fans would buy originals Jdramas DVDs from Japan anyways. The worst thing that can possibly happen as a result of this promotion is that more fans will be brainwashed into devoted fans so they'll blindly buy unsubbed originals from Japan (like me) knowing they'll have to imagine the English dialogues when they watch those unsubbed originals.

There is a notice on S-Projects that only soft-subs will now be provided - apparently the risk of being sued over hard-subs out weights the risk of soft-subs ending up in distro-land.

The entire softsub/hardsub flip-flop is almost worthy of it's own J-drama.

I'm already at episode eight of my own hardsub... I'm not starting over again. Grumble
