I just watched the first episode of the anime NC, and loved it! I think I'm gonna really get into this since I have a huge music background and can relate to everything, not to mention the characters, humor, etc. But I have a question. I didn't want to read through 411 pages, and maybe I would find an answer, but--- do you recommend watching the dorama or the anime first? What's the best idea for a total nodame n00b? Thanks!

I watched the anime season 1 parallelly to the drama.
After that, being that the anime has more time to cover the story, I watched anime season 2, then the two live action specials in europe, anime season 3 and finally the movies. Worked for me.
The anime covers the story in greater detail and in my view has a more distinctive humor, while the drama delivers strongly on emotions and kills during the concert scenes.

^ I'd definitely watch the drama first: the acting and musical performances are top-notch.
It took me a while to get into the anime version, particularly the first season, since I thought the animation was lacking a bit, but Paris-Hen and Finale were terrific.

Yeah, I hear that... I just wonder if it really works to watch a live-action then animated? Maybe it's hard to get the characters out of your head once you've seen them. Kinda like seeing the harry potter moves then reading the books or something. Not sure I'd want to do that.

I had the same reluctance about watching the anime after seeing the live action, but after a couple of episodes, I really got into it... Sure, you'll be making comparisons, but I don't think it'll affect the enjoyment of watching either.

"Real" Noda Megumi?
yes, the real Noda Megumi in Ogawa at Fukuoka prefecture, which inspired Tomoko Ninomiya to create figures "Nodame", always mentioned by Tomoko Ninomiya at the back page in the Manga .. You should know that
at shooting for the last Episode of the Drama, Ueno Juri and Tamaki Hiroshi says that they had meet with "Noda Megumi" the real one...

I've never read the manga.
